shouldn't chocolate be a key ingredient in molé?

Not necesarily. It is for Mole Poblano, but not for any other mole. Anyhow, this Mole Dona MarIa is very close to the Mole Poblano in taste. I think they are omiting the chocolate on the ingredients by including it on the "natural flavours" item. I'd also rate it as 8.5/10

What other ingredients should you mix the concentrate with?

I have only ever used chicken broth. I stew a whole chicken and then use the broth. I have found that an immersion blender mixes the sauce and broth beautifully. This is my go-to sauce when I don't have hours to make my own.

How does one open the jar? I couldn't get it off and had to cut the metal top which resulted in sharp edges.

They should be twist offs, if not just peel the edges with a bottle opener a bit. As a bonus, what you do after is wash the glass and use it as a cup. :)

Is this chocolate mole? i used to get dona mara chocolate mole in boxes but if this is the same the glass would make a better gift.

I have used this glass jar version of Dona Maria mole and the version that comes in a “juice box.” They are almost the same thing. This version in the glass jar is a concentrated form. It is the consistency of a very thick paste that you need to scoop out with a strong spoon and it is typically mixed with chicken broth or stock to get the proper consistency. But the taste is more or less the same.
