The Alcazar Chess Set an Unique Hand Crafted Wood Chess Pieces with a 5 inch King, 22.8 inch Wooden Chess Board that Folds for Chess Piece Storage

First, and to be absolutely fair ... it is exactly like advertised. Most important to me, it looks quite nice and is a large board and large pieces. I would buy again at this price but this is a perfect case where you are getting what you pay for ... nothing more. Here are a couple of recommendations that would make it an exceptional value for the price:1. The bottom edging (when opened for play) should have a felt lining. As it is now, it is very worrisome about scratching the table.2. The clasps should be "swing clasps" so that when the board is open for play, they could be closed so they do not extend above the board nor do they scratch the table on which it sits. Consider putting the clasps on the side of the board too - this way they are not "in the way" while you are playing.3. Finally, add a few ounces of lead in the bases. They are just slightly underweight. It is not a big deal, but for a board of this price, a bit more "heft" would be appreciated.

I had no idea how beautiful this chess set actually was until I saw it in person. My husband had been asking for a chess set for a while now, but I couldn't find the right one. Then, Amazon Prime Day was here... I ordered it as a surprise for my husband while I was away visiting my parents, and he was absolutely thrilled with it! When I got home and saw it, it exceeded my expectations. The fine details of gold and craftmanship are amazing.

This was a Christmas gift for our son, shipped directly to him. The quality was so bad that he donated it to a charity - NEVER would have used it! We were ripped off royally. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!!!

Style great size great quality bad

This is a beautiful set! I received this a week ago and it was missing a piece. Chess Central was very prompt in replying to my message and sending out a replacement piece, which I got today. I am so excited to have the full set to wrap in time for Christmas!

I loved the size of the pieces ... nice and large and carved beautifully. One of the issues for me was the weight of the pieces... they were so light that once you picked one up if felt cheap. When your playing chess it’s nice to move around pieces that feel substantial. This chess set made a beautiful display

First of all, the chess set is beautiful. I gave it to my son two Christmases ago and he plays it constantly. He is very proud of it. So...when our dog captured the pawn and chewed it, my son was bummed. I contacted Chess Central and they said that they would work on it. I totally forgot about it and figured I'd never hear back. Today, guess what arrived in the mail? The black pawn! My son actually did a little jig. Thank you, ChessCentral.

Beautiful set!!! It came very fast. Tall pieces and modern feel. Much nicer than the picture, it has a cooper details in each piece and the board wich make it very elegant. Nice wait to the pieces, very stable. My husband will be very happy this Christmas! I'm glad I've chosen this set after much research . Thank Chess Central and Amazon
