Gorgeous knife with a sharp edge and remarkably inexpensive! Very pleased with how it handles when slicing veggies and love the look of the hankle. Plan to purchase the Santoku knife from the Aroma House.

Beautiful and Functional.
The media could not be loaded. Item was placed in a plastic envelope without padding. Envelope was mangled on one end, gift box severely damaged and unusable. How I don't know, but the knife survived perfectly intact and extremely sharp.Threw box away and mounted magnets to the side of my small knife block.I've recently begun Asian style cooking with fresh ingredients. I first purchased a wok and quickly realized I needed a complementary cutting tool. I researched traditional Asian style knives, both low and high-end and I wanted one that was versatile for more more than just cutting up food. Since I wasn't certain how I would be able to use this style of knife I didn't want to spend much money until I got a feel for the tool.I've only had this knife for a little over two weeks. But it has become my go-to cutting tool. I do most of the cooking in my house so I use it everyday. I love this knife. Full tang or not, wood handle or not, don't care. This knife is very well made, easy to use, and so far it works beautifully for most of my food prep needs.I still use other types of knives for specific needs. But with the Aroma House 7 inch meat cleaver I am able to get very thin slices whether vegetables or protein. The design is well thought out, it's comfortable and easy to hold and use, especially for smaller hands like mine. Chopping and dicing is a breeze. Whack garlic to a pulp with the heavy side? No problem. Tenderize meat with the spine eliminates my heavy meat hammer most of the time. After cutting or chopping I can scoop ingredients with the same knife right into the wok, pan, or bowl for holding until needed. I do NOT chop bones with it. Although I have cut up whole chickens in the traditional 8-pieces, slices and cuts right through.I am extremely pleased with my purchase so far, and at this point I would recommend this Aroma House knife to anyone, especially if you've never used a Asian style before. I thought this would be an entry level tool. But I was wrong, it's much more than that. The only drawback for me is that the blade is a little too short. Should like this knife in 8 or even 9 inches in length. Nonetheless, it's all good, and a dream to use. I removed one star in the maneuverability category. The knife may not be un-maneuverable. I think perhaps my skill level needs improvement? So, I may have to add it back?Anyway...Happy cutting and cooking!

Nakiri 3 years later
It came very sharp and has a slicey blade profile. Just perfect for cabbages or anything you chop cut. The handle is comfortable and usually not slippery unless you have something slick on your hand. I have sharpened it a few times with stones no problem but I usually strop it back to sharp instead of using stones so maybe look into that (works with many knives). The steel isn't the best (look at the price) but for a Nakri cutting only vegetables it's good, no chips or roll overs yet. Its the usual rust resistance you'd expect, spots easily removed with plastic scouring pad. Definitely a good first Nakri to buy to see if you like them before investing more money or are on a budget.Would I buy this Nakiri again...yes as a gift. I've moved on to more expensive Japanese knives nowWould I buy this as a santoku...maybe if I don't plan cutting through or around any bones.Would I buy this as a cleaver...not a snowballs chance in Hades.
