Cleto Reyes Hook and Loop Boxing Training Gloves, Black, 14 OZ

When I first got these gloves, I was quite worried because they are TIGHT and very uncomfortable. I mean, even getting your wrapped hands in them was very difficult. You couldn't do 2 rounds on the heavy bag without wishing you could finally take them off. Very tight, very uncomfortable. But don't despair. They take a few weeks and some patience and eventually they break in nicely. I've had them for some months now and they are great. They're comfortable, they hit hard with a nice pop on the heavy bag and they're very nicely made, great quality. I train 4 days a week and have them on for more than an hour at a time and have no problems whatsoever. Cleto Reyes definitely know how to make boxing gloves.

Great gloves. Punches feel good. Velcro strap is secure, but sometimes is hard to grab, when trying to take off the gloves. Thumb area could use a bit more padding. Good wrist support. Label will start peeling almost imidiately.

These gloves are probably the best I’ve ever used. They are very well made with 100% strong leather. The glove’s stitching inside allows you’re fingers to make a complete fist which allows for maximum punches with each throw. If you’ve got the money to spend, always go with Cleto Reyes.

Have had entry level gloves by known manufacturers, even leather gloves. They all had issues. The boxing gloves always seemed to get delivered with stitching pulled up and frayed. The leather and foam had defects, or were uneven. My friend offered to show me a pair of CLETO-REYES gloves. The rest is history. You can actually see the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I challenge you to find a better training glove for this price!

Provides excellent protection for my hands. Use it for heavy bag and focus pads work. Need to be taken care of with leather care oil every count of months to prevent dry cracks.

I really like these gloves so far but I will say some of the previous comments may be correct. I'll have to remember to come back later and update my review. I have large hands and I saw that people with larger hands may have an issue. One glove fits fine where the other is probably just a hair too small but it hasn't affected anything yet as far as its use. The other issue is the elastic strap that is inside the cuff is pretty tight. When just putting my hand in the glove it's fine but when I put on a wrap it makes it very difficult to get past that elastic due to the wrap catching on it and since you already have one glove on I have to ask for assistance to get the elastic pulled up so I can get past it with my hand. I haven't used the gloves enough yet to say they are broken so this may be the issue. The padding on them are excellent and protect my hands well. They have awesome wrist support which I really like also. Overall I like the gloves and hope the break in period will help out.

i’m so glad and order these boxing gloves, big difference front the standard glove you receive when you join a boxing class. i purchased 16 which i can feel my arms burning when i throw a punch not disappointed

Took a bit of time to get them broken in. At first they were very snug and were difficult to get on and off with wraps. But after two weeks of multiple uses, they fit perfectly. They fit the shape of my hand well, and the wrist support Is excellent. They still have the new leather smell, and they air out and dry internally quite well. These were made to last a long time. Well worth the price for quality! Just give them time to break in.

-Beautiful quality/leather is amazing -Even with 14 oz, the fit is great for my small hands (with hand wraps) -When hitting the pads or heavybag, the gloves are making a beautiful "pop" sound -which I'm addicted to-. You can also feel the power in your punches. -It's is true that the gloves do need a break-in period, but for the moment the comfort is just improving -The cuff is long, you need to be aware of that. I had problem with my previous gloves (Fairtex BGV1): bruised knuckles and the fit, even with hand wraps, was not that good. When I decided to upgrade to Reyes, no more hands problem. In my 7 years of boxing, it's clearly the best gloves I've had so far. Little things that could be improved: Even though the stitching is good, few long threads were uncut inside the gloves. The logo on the right glove is a bit misplaced. Little disappointing considering the price, but it doesn't affect the performance of the gear.
