This allows for a much lighter and maneuverable flash head. Sometimes I want to move the light really high and I'm using a lightweight stand, this is so important to balance everything. Shooting on the move is also a lot easier when the weight of the light can be slung over a shoulder instead of at the end of a stand.

I like to use this on my photoshoots to keep the flash head separated from the main body. Sometimes I have to put my flashes up high, and I like to keep them as light as possible. This helps me reduce the weight by having the power supply portion mounted lower on the stand. I also found it useful if I have an assistant and need them to follow me with a light, to help keep the weight down they have to lift up. The smaller flashes may not weigh a ton, but after a long 8 hour day it really starts to add up.

I’ve been using the Godox EC200II extension with my AD200PRO II, and it makes a noticeable difference in flexibility when shooting. The 2-meter length gives plenty of room to position the flash head away from the camera, which is especially useful for off-camera lighting setups or creative angles. Installation is straightforward, just connect it to the AD200PRO II, and it feels secure and well-built. Since it’s an official Godox accessory, the fit and performance are exactly what I expected no loose connections or signal issues. It’s a simple accessory but really improves convenience, letting you experiment with lighting without being tethered directly to the flash unit.

The EC200II is the best way to get your gear off of the top of a lightstand. There is nothing like working on a windy day and your light go falling over. With this extension head you never have to worry about your AD200 Pro II falling from heights and hitting the ground, a costly repair. No you can just pick it up and keep shooting. If you have it mounted on a bracket with a modifier at the top of a lightstand it will be well protected allowing you to keep shooting. I haven't noticed a power degradation with the extension head, but I haven't yet used it on really challenging jobs. It is not compatible with the AD200 or AD200 Pro because of the modeling light function so keep that in mind. The pins are different.
