Mending the Past & Healing the Future with Soul Retrieval

I love how the author lays out the steps and the guided meditations. I have had profound "journeys" from it. This is the book I've been looking for!

I have been on my own personal journey for a few years now, searching for answers to a few key problems I had been experiencing for much of my life. Certainly I had been working diligently to work through my beliefs, thoughts and attitudes etc that I believed were holding me back. But after quite some time, I became frustrated that I had been unable to make a break through in areas related to my health and direction in life.Just when I was about to give up, this book came along....If you have taken part in visualisation exercises as I had, you might think you know what is going to happen when you follow the instructions in this book. However, it is likely that you will have an experience quite unlike anything you have had before!The instructions in the book guide you through certain exercises which take you to various parts of yourself that cannot usually be accessed except via the shamanic journeying technique. Thankfully, the experience is described in an easy to understand manner and the concepts are further described by way of storey-telling to reinforce understanding.The effects of working with this book are almost immediate. Health problems I have had for years evaporated within days of doing the exercises in this book. Other areas of my life cleared up almost as quickly. After wondering for 20 years what I was supposed to do with my life, I finally got my answer! So if you have some big challenges and are looking for a way to really make some inroads, try this book and see if it doesn't make a difference!

His cards are beyond description as are his books! He's the real deal.

I have heard some opinions about Villoldo that he's not authentic enough, that he distills the techniques and ideas too much. However, I feel this book is a good introduction to soul retrieval and other shamanic techniques and ideas. It is well-organized, and laid out in an easy-to-understand and easy to follow fashion. The techniques are easy to learn and try. I think he should explain more forcefully in the beginning that these techniques carry a lot of power and that readers should not use them on others unless they have been trained by a teacher. Other books I would recommend for those who want to learn about shamanism are The Shaman's Body by Arthur Mindell and Keepers of the Ancient Knowledge by Joan Parisi Wilcox. You should also become familiar with Chakras and so read The Chakra Handbook by Sharamon & Baginski. You will also probably end up working with power animals and might like Animal Talk or Animal Speak I forget which it is.

I first learned about this author in a documentary titled "Healing the Luminous Body" which I also reccomend. The book takes you into the Amazon where Alberto shares from his journal excerpts and gives detailed instructions for the reader to experience his or her own Soul Retrieval. It is such a profound and powerful tool to reintegrate aspects of the self in our all too compartmentalized society. The breathing excercises for the meditations do create an altered state of awareness which is vital to the journeying. I enjoyed that Alberto not only shared his own experience but the some of his client's experiences to prepare the reader tor whatever he or she may encounter on the Soul Retrieval.Word to the wise: some reviews state that the author used this book as a brochure tor his school which is a total lie. He references client's experiences as examples, not to pressure people into spending more money. It seems that some people would rather prevent others from healing than allow a prolific writer to be a success.

I enjoy all of his books.

This work changed my life for the better. I have not been exposed to the notion of journeying into my own psyche. But when I did it, and saw things that dwelt there, I was deeply impacted. Due to these experiences, I changed my life! I made new opportunities for myself to express my true heart's desire. As a result, I am much more fulfilled! I recommend this book if you are attracted to it. I found out about Alberto via a Gaiamtv talk he gives. So, if you want to know what he's about, just check him out on Gaiamtv and see if you like what he has to say. By all appearances, he is a humble, legit, wise man offering true soul-teachings. I adore him and revere his work. Good luck!

This book strengthened the feelings I already had about getting over an unusual problem. It served as a major variable or catalyst that infused me with the grace to calm down and get in touch with the invisible reality of truth, intention and mending the past that I knew was there but was lost from. My understanding of reality was clarified to a greater extent so I will never lose tract of myself again. Alberto Villoldo is a great man.

A wonderful, informative text that is based on his experience and training.Very clearly stated facts and Shamanic techniques.The responsibility and seriousness of his work is very evident in his writing.One realizes that this is not just the information a few weekend retreat courses.This is the information the modern world has waited a long time for.

I am training to be a shamanic practitoner and this book has expanded my knowledge of journeying, especially apropos soul retrieval and healingWritten in a clear manner with plenty of references to the myths and their part in healing for humanity.So an excellent read and sort of book that I will refer to again and againHighly recommend to others on the healing path
