Prevention, prevention, prevention!!
Bulky, pricey, but well designed. These have one important feature softer pressure sore/heel protection “booties” don’t have - an actual hole/opening right at the most vulnerable area of the heel. This means it doesn’t actually cushion the heel, it keeps it floating above the mattress avoiding any contact or friction. Merely for prevention you may or may not need this level of protection but if treating an existing sore this product is durable, sanitary, and very helpful. The user has no major complaints about comfort, but some may not like the rigid, encompassing “boot” design. He does switch between these and smaller, softer bootie types as long as there is no sign of an issue (redness, burning, etc.) but if there’s even a hint of a problem these go on exclusively.

If you have had bunion surgery, this is a GAME CHANGER!!!
I had bunion surgery and a screw put in my foot and was told to sleep with my foot elevated and in a still position. I had a terrible time sleeping with the stiff shoe that the dr had given me, but was too nervous not to wear anything. Even with the stiff shoe, it hurt to have the weight of the blankets on top of my foot!! I found this boot on amazon and figured that I had nothing to lose. It has been a LIFE SAVER for me. The boot comes up just high enough past my toes that I can put blankets over my foot and it doesn't hurt. The fabric is plush and soft, and the velcro is tight enough that my foot stays in place but doesn't restrict my circulation. I am finally getting a normal nights sleep again and my foot is healing. I would recommend this to anyone that is recovering from foot or ankle surgery to use at night. It is worth the price x 10.

Excellent comfort and no Pressure areas.
This Boot covers my foot very well and it is off load bearing as my doctor recommended. It is comfortable and durable. Fairly easy to take on and off on my own. I am using it to cover my wound vac which is connected to the bottom of my foot.

Great product! Worth the money!
My mom has Alzheimer’s Disease, and I take care of her. Her mobility is getting worse. I noticed 2 big blisters on her heels caused by pressure from the bed. One popped and it’s now a stage 2 pressure ulcer. I took her to her podiatrist and I have supplies for dressings. I ordered these boots to relieve the pressure on her heels while she is in bed, and I’m very glad I ordered these. It’s a very comfortable soft material. They are made well. I really like that there are holes where the heels are because you can feel they are elevated and not touching anything. It also makes it easier to check the foot is in the right position in the boot. My mom says they are comfortable and I’m hoping with time, the blister and ulcer will heal.

Almost there…
This product would be perfect if it was a little more aligned with the boot we wear during recovery. A strap across the top of the foot would make this “sleeping boot” perfect. For me; my ligaments are tight in my foot so I need the extra coverage to keep my foot at a 90° angle. Other then that; it’s comfy and better to sleep on then the boot you would wear every day.

Very poor design
I bought this to help with severe tendonitis in the achilles tendon which is very painful when anything touches it. Not a good choice. First, the soft material covering the boot is everywhere except the heel area. That area is padded with some sort of hard stiff foam that is covered with a slick, not soft and fuzzy material. It is the only area of the entire boot that is not soft, and in addition, there is a seam right where the heel should sit in the boot that cuts into the heel if it is tender. But the heel does not sit there; the foot slides forward and out the front of the boot because the straps are useless. They are held in place by flexible ribbons with too much give and the velcro straps cannot be tightened enough to keep the foot in place. I read other reviews that mentioned the foot hanging off the front of the boot, but I thought the person just had a big foot. I do not. It slides out the front no matter what you do. There is a hole in the back that the heel is supposed to rest in, but since it slides forward, the hole has no function and the heel sits inside the boot and slides/rubs with every step. Plus it is really hot! I cannot keep it on for more than a few minutes or my entire foot gets too hot. There is a gel pack that you can heat/cool with, but it just adds more bulk to the back of the heel area and causes more pressure and more pain. I thought a company with as many ortho products as this one would know how to design something that works, but I was very wrong. Wasted money and still in pain. I unfortunately threw away the wrapping and box when I got the boot, so can't return it. Don't make the mistake I did.

Great for relieving pressure
This boot works perfectly for relieving pressure on the heel. Person is able to move easier on the bed than with a foam booty. The Velcro closure makes the boot easy to apply and keep in place.
