Is this suitable for thick hair?

Absolutely. I have thick hair; it's one of the reasons I use this stuff. It works best if you have some time to let it soak into your hair. I find that if I can wait 15 to 20 minutes after putting it in it works better and I don't have to use as much.

Is their a difference between this and forming creme?

Yes. The forming creme is a think white gel better used for thinner hair and a spike look. The grooming creme is like a thick vasoline better used for thick hair. It provides a softer form, doesn't get hard or too stixcky

What does "packaging may vary" mean? i want grooming cream not something else.

I’ve ordered several times and I get grooming cream every time. Not sure what they mean, but at that price I really don’t care.
