This is a very basic solution to the need to get the axle inserted at the proper angle the first time. I've helped my sons build plenty of cars over the years without one. Now, working with my grandkid, this thing makes it so easy.

This product was exactly what we needed, but didn’t even realize it!

It definitely helps with aligning axles, but it is still a little hard to use and get the axles installed correctly. You have to firmly hold it in place to make sure it doesn't slip out. I would still buy it and use it as it definitely makes the wheels straighter than without it.

We found out about this after our pinewood derby race last year after we had a catastrophe getting the wheels on. I added it to my cart that day. I wish we knew about it sooner. It is so easy to use and made our lives so much easier.

This is my second time buying one of these and this time the results weren't as good. The tool helped improve the horizontal alignment, but using the approach they recommend, I still have meaningful vertical alignment issues. I ended up using the tool in combination with a bench vise which helped somewhat.
