Rubber Vent Cover, 4 x 12 Inch, 3-Pack, DOES NOT include metal vent, Stops Airflow (additional sizes available)

I was reordering magnetic vent covers the other day to close off most of my home from AC and direct it to just 1-2 smaller rooms. As I was adding the covers to my cart, one of the suggested products on the page were these rubber vent covers. I was a bit skeptical, wondering if they'd be thick enough, possibly tearing on the metal edges of my floor vents but I went ahead and nixed the magnetic covers and ordered a couple packs of the rubber overs, figuring I could always return them, and I'm so glad I did. The magnetic covers worked to some degree but there was still some cool air coming through around the edges. With the rubber covers, the air is completely blocked, as they cover the underside of the metal vent covers completely. They were just the right size and easy to place over the vent covers. For the vents that are most visible in my home, I used only the rubber covers underneath the vents, which looks better than the magnetic covers and eliminates any slippage. I found that in higher-traffic areas, the magnetic covers sometimes slid off, and I'd purchased the strongest of those---this is a non-issue with the rubber covers that wrap around the bottom of the vent. The only challenge I had with the rubber vent covers was with unfolding them--the folded-over sections were somewhat stuck together, and did require a bit of careful oomph to unfold. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the warm weather while in transit or if this is just a normal occurrence in packaging. I was worried that I might damage the covers by needing to apply some pressure to unfold them, but all covers unfolded without any tears. As well, the covers are uniformly thick, including the all-important corners that are covering sharper metal edges on the vent. Again, no rips or tears at all. I did add the magnetic covers to some of the vents that are more out of the way or where my vent covers don't fit as well as they could in this older home. Both together completely seal the vent beautifully for those vents that are an issue, but for most of the vents, the rubber vent cover alone nicely does the trick. I was so happy with the covers that I just ordered another set for the 3 more vents. They're a bit pricey, so I plan to purchase another couple sets for the back storage room that for now still has only magnetic covers and heavy furniture covering those vents, but I plan to eventually have the rubber vents covering all of those. They really do a great job and I highly recommend them for anyone who hasn't been satisfied using magnetic vent covers. These would work especially well for ceiling vents where magnetic covers sometimes don't hold as well. I'm really happy that I gave these a try!

Covers vent well and blocks vent. Works as intended. Just need to be careful on those cheap metal vents that can tear the rubber.

Works as described. The people that had less than stellar reviews seem to have a problem understanding that there are different size registers and you have to buy the right size for your vents. That's like buying a size S shirt and complaining it won't fit over your L sized body. If you buy the correct size cover it will fit just right and won't make these "high pitched noises." How do i know this? I bought a wrong size one at first and had to stretch it into place and it made noises. With the right size cover the noises are gone. You will still get the air noise because there is still air trying to go to the vent - no vent cover will fix that.

So to be honest these rubber vent covers were interesting. I wanted to close off a few vents that are ill placed. They looked well made and had no odor. They do have a slight stretch to them and were pretty easy to apply but I had to watch for tight fitting corners on the metal vent as to not catch or tear the rubber. The fit for the hole that the vent went in to was a perfect snug fit and the fact I could not see them after installing was great! The fact I could hear them not so much. Sadly they didn't actually stop the airflow. When ever the system was used instead of blocking the air flow. The vent would just lift up and then you could hear the high pitch sound of the air escaping. This could be just be a wow that's odd event that only I happen upon but they just didn't work out for me.

Very effective product for stopping airflow invents that are unused. These work better than just using the lever on the register, as they block airflow completely from coming through the vent, more tightly than just flipping the lever and the metal vents closing. This would be a five star review in all aspects but before purchasing These, we read a review about the difficulty someone had unpacking them, as they stuck together after shipment. I thought that was a little harsh until we ran into the same problem. The rubber , especially in summer time deliveries can get a little sticky and this makes it difficult for the very thin rubber that they’re made of to pull apart gently without tearing them. Other than that, putting them on as simple, again just be careful as they are very thin rubber, but do the job very well

I don’t know what the deal is, but my sister kept the heater on incinerate all winter. My room is closest to the furnace so it was seriously like a billion degrees, just miserable. The vent is adjustable but the “closed” position just reduced airflow and created this awful, LOUD whistling sound so that didn’t work for me at all; tried opening windows but I swear it just drew the heat across me and it definitely made it stay on longer. I saw this product, reasonably priced for a three pack so I ordered it. The next day I popped off the vent, installed the cover, and reinstalled the vent in minutes. When my sister got home and used her pitchfork to invoke a fiery hell, this little wonder kept the inferno at bay so I was free to relax. Worth every penny.

Product is really good and it is workable. But packing and delivery is not good. Seller rolled the vent cover like a ball and the rubber sides are sticking together and do not have any non-sticking material. It is very hard to remove the cover. Due to very hot weather and material is cumbersome, it is sticking together. Tried to separate and I have a few damages on the cover. I would appreciate if seller can send me a replacement or compensate me further.

I got this for the floor vent that was behind our Christmas tree. Nothing stopped the hot air from hitting the tree until I installed this. It was easy, it fit the vent perfectly and it works in complete silence. The tree had zero hot air blowing on it. I have another vent that always whistled when the louvers were closed and, since they were mostly closed, I installed one of these on it (they come 3 to a pack) and no more whistling! Totally worth it!

They fit perfectly and the air coming out is definitely reduced significantly by like 85%. No i can force colder air from basement to 2nd floor.

We have a garden level suite in our home with shared climate control and have struggled with temperature control for the 2 years we’ve lived there. If it’s warm enough in the suite it’s way too hot in the main house. After searching around for possible low cost solutions I found these and read heaps of reviews. I took the leap (I’m not usually terribly trusting of online reviews) and after we installed the first cover in a ceiling vent I said out loud that I’d be leaving a review on this! We can keep our space crisp and downstairs is no longer stealing all our air conditioning. The seal on these is fabulous, they were incredibly simple to install, and they’ve been in for a few weeks now with no issue whatsoever. 5/5 stars for SURE!

I bought these to block the air conditioning coming from the vents in the basement, as it’s always so freezing down there, even with the vent in the closed position. There has definitely been improvement, it’s still a bit cool down there but not like it was. The outside of my vent cover measures 11 x 5 inches and these covers fit the inside perfectly. They are folded together when they arrive so you have to unfold them carefully

These vent covers are better than anything else I've tried to plug the vents in the basement. They definitely warm the space by a few degrees when the AC is running. I recommend these to all homeowners, but especially to landlords who keep getting complaints from basement tenants about it being too cold in the Summer.

We like it cold in our bedroom in the winter but the kids need heat (or so we’ve been told 😂.). We tried the Magnetic went blockers first but they kept coming off and getting lost. We decided to try these are are glad we did. They work great and they stay put. Itll come off easily when we want air conditioning in the supper. It came with 3 in the package which I didn’t even realize. It’s stretches to fit the vent, still fits back in place and it’s strong enough that it hasn’t torn. Overall very pleased.
