Yes, I have the traditional knife sharpener, just like my parents had. It seemed to take forever to get just the right sharpness when they used their's. Not with this sharpener! I just use both sides of it, taking 5 - 10 passes on each side and the blade is so sharp, it cuts cleanly, quickly, and precisely. I'm so happy with it. Now I'm cutting fruits and vegetables in half the time it used to take me, and with a really sharp blade! No more tugging and tearing on anything. Just nice clean cuts.

Timely delivery and apparently a good product

Based on my sad long experience with "Pull Through" knife sharpeners, I was reluctant to try this Henkels product, but I noted that Wustoff also makes one, but at a much higher price. Since my niece would never use a stone and doesn't seem able to maintain her honing rod at the correct angle; I thought this might be a better solution if it would work and last. So, when I received it, I decided to test Her's first before giving it to her. I took one of my Wustoff utility knives that needed touch up and pulled it though the Henkels twice. It needed more, so I pulled three times, and the test was amazing, the knife was now very sharp, like from the factory, consistently, all along the blade length. Next, I tried my Chef's knife. Same amazing result. She will let me know in a month if her experience is the same. Then I'll buy one for myself and consign my honing rod to permanently decorate the knife block. But I wonder how long this sharpener will it last? Can the sharpening blades be replaced by an owner? In the past, these types of sharpeners soon wore out.

Purchased this to replace a mediocre sharpener we've had in the past. It's amazing at sharpening both kitchen knives and my EDC pocket knife (it's a beater). Very easy to use and stays stable on the counter when sharpening. Easy to store away in a drawer as well when not in use - relatively compact. Our knives are back to feeling like new.

Good piece of kit.

Had such great expectations after reading the reviews unfortunately my experience so far is that it falls far short of the claims which were made. I do a better job at sharpening the knives with the stone I have than the Henckel knife sharpener.
