Gebauer's Instant Ice: Topical Skin Refrigerant and Cold Spray

I take an at home, pre-loaded shot monthly that is less pleasant/causes some pain, so my spouse administers it to me. I typically ice prior with some relief. A review suggested this was life changing, so we decided to try it. The tl;dr is that this made the process more pleasant. In comparison, I thought this worked better than icing the skin and we were satisfied with our purchase. The spray likely took 10 seconds for the skin to turn white. We used the shot immediately. I could still feel the end of the shot and it had mild discomfort after, but just made a point to use the arm some. I will worry less about the expectation of pain, because the shot is worth it no matter what and this worked well.

I have had a horrible fear of needles and pain for as long as I can remember and I am 31 years old now. This product has made it so I am able to get immunizations, blood draws, and even helps with bug bites and general pain, it works so well. My doctor and I felt so stupid when we realized how easily this entire phobia could have been solved. I carry it to every doctors visit and my life has significantly improved since using it. I feel like I owe my life to this product! If you have a needle phobia I PROMISE this will make it like you never had one. You can’t feel a thing after you put it on for several minutes! It’s amazing!! Every nurse that has given me a shot is shocked when they hear my story and how this product solved it. I still can’t believe that I was actually able to get the covid vaccination after a lifetime of having a severe phobia thanks to this product, it’s like a dream come true and I literally cry whenever I think about how I can get shots and stuff now. If you have a phobia like mine, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You can do it!!!

My sister liked it... its got some weight... she is a dialysis patient and the needles are painful and she says it works for the needle access.. she says she will continue to buy it... it gets cold and she reccommends it... good price... she is glad i found this more for her and the can is a bit more bigger..

Be aware that This is not gebauers ethyl chloride, The product that doctors and trainers use. It is an OTC product. It will numb things pretty well but you need a pretty heavy dose, it lasts 15 seconds, Where the prescription version will last 1 minute or more. When you search for the original product this comes up in all searches. They do not advertise this product completely accurate in my opinion but you have to read. It is a little expensive for what you get, especially If you use it often. So just be aware and know what this is you are purchasing. Overall I am very pleased with this product. It is the best that I have found on the market! Update Jan 2021. I've tried tons of stuff and this is the best! Its still not as good as the original but it is the best numbing spray I've found Update Oct 2021. Purchased more again. Tried some new sprays but they were no good! One of them did Not numb things at all, not in the least. Unless you have a prescription from a doctor this is the best OTC numbing spray on the market! I will definitely continue to purchase it.

Help very much with pain. I have neuropathy in my foot and sometimes this is the only thing that helps with the pain.

For someone with "needle anxiety," (not phobia, please), the pain of needle insertions for dialysis can be easily avoided with cold spray as a local anesthetic. This one works because it produces a narrowly aimed spray rather than a wide beam, and as long as enough is applied to the skin until the skin turns white, the needle insertion can be painless. Works great for me. I carry one can with me to dialysis sessions in case the center has failed to keep up their supplies. Without a spray, the center will advise another local anesthetic such as lidocaine, which is applied by a needle. That doesn't satisfy a person with needle anxiety, really.

This stuff doesn't help me at all

This spray doesn't work as well as ethyl chloride. The numbing effects didn't last long.
