very helpful, but not made for Americans
Overall this book has been very helpful. It has helped my two kids who struggle with dyslexic tendencies and frequently reverse their letters and digits. There are several rhymes and pictures to help them remember which way each letter/digit goes.A couple things to keep in mind is that there is a page that is supposed to help with S and Z reversals, but the picture and story being used is of a zombie. Just be aware for parents who prefer not to use such imagery in learning. We don't have a problem with those letters being reversed so we haven't had to use that page.Another thing to keep in mind is that the text seems to be in British English which is easy enough to figure out if a parent/adult is helping, but may be difficult for a child if they are trying to do the assignments on their own.Overall I would recommend this book for children who struggle to write the letters and numbers in the right direction.

REALLY WORKS! LIFE CHANGING.
My son learned this at his visual processing lessons. I bought this, because I was shocked at how fast my son had a change after YEARS in PUBLIC school with no change in his reading and writing. His teacher showed him this and he immediately saw his letters and numbers right. For years he mirrored his letters/numbers and I was a my wits end. My son is writing better also. It's mind boggling how one little thing can change a child's life. If your child has dyslexia, or trouble reading and writing (mine had tons of tracking and visual processing problems) get this and possibly help your child. I'm astounded that public school teachers don't know ANYTHING about identifying learning disabilities (we were told he wasn't trying, when actually he couldn't see entire words and letters), and Congress needs to change this so more children don't suffer as my son and our family have.

I did not find illustrations to be unsavory
I hate tacky things and I eapecially hate tacky things for kids, but I only found the illustrations in this book to be done with a spirit of fun. More importantly, there is very little to be found like this, so I am thankful that this exists. I think the activities seem very well thought out and I only expect this to be helpful. My daughter was delighted simply by looking through it and interest in it is very important!

Not exactly what I was hoping for
Looks useful but I was hoping for more of a workbook. This is more like a book of ways to help remember the differences rather than practice

Random book in the middle
I ordered 3 for my kids.2 were fine.1 had a random book in the middle, haha! Like the pages of a book within the pages of this book. I laughed so hard. Unfortunately it was also put in backwards order. 😂I’m sure it was some kind of printing issue?Anyway, the concept is great! However, my kiddos were still struggling with it. We only did the first couple of pages.I might try again in the future?Seems like the writers just need a better printing/design? I think it could be helpful. We got another dyslexia workbook that we really like! (It has an octopus on the cover.)

Great resource for parents and teachers!
I have been a 1st and 2nd grade teacher for 20 years. I bought this book based on reviews from a dyslexia class. I am now a diagnostician and always on the search for good resources. I am currently going through the lessons with my 3 year old grand daughter. The phonemic awareness activities are fun and engaging. She is picking it up so quickly! These lessons are great for parents to teach their children to read at home and for teachers to have an alternative small group lesson for struggling readers in all grades!

Parts of two books in one
Interesting. While we did receive the dyslexia book, it is after 25 pages of a brazilian history book . We didn't even receive the full Portuguese book which was a is suppose to have 296 pages.

Great tricks to help kids get their letters the right way round
My son has a habit of writing some of his letters and digits the wrong way round. He was finding handwriting very frustrating and anything but fun. This book gives some really useful tricks to help children remember how to write their letters. He had success from the first time he started using these tricks and it has given him the confidence boost he needed to keep trying.

If you are reading this review you should buy this book!
If your child is struggling with letter reversals then this book is for you. My 6 year old daughter was constantly getting her letters wrong and this book has put an end to it. She is delighted with herself. She has suspected dyslexia but I remember finding it hard to get my letters the right way around as a child (I don’t have dyslexia) and this book works and is actually fun!
