Roylco Insects Rubbing Plate

I purchase this set because I had borrowed the honey bee and the dragonfly plates of this set from a friend and found them to give very nice images. Hers were the blue pictured on the web site. The description says "colors may vary"...it does not say that the set you will receive is a much cheaper grade of clear plastic. I consider this a gross misrepresentation, and having been able to use the original, heavier weight blue plastic version of this product, can categorically state that the clear plastic is a much thinner plastic, making these plates virtually worthless. Don't waste your money.

"colors may vary" is a joke, none of the pictures showed the real product. Product is vacuum form suck down, thin sheets of clear plastic, almost as if they had a set of real bug plates and just copied them to sell. The bugs are not fully formed. Instead of being a solid plastic, or perhaps rubberized as pictured, they are poor quality. This causes the sheets to float around on the surface when trying to use them. Had to cut out a piece of drawer liner to help keep it in place. Luckily my child is just happy to color on something... we got a better set of rubbing plates from a Burger King Happy Meal, seriously! The only saving grace is this was a free shipping item and just an add on. Will not order products from this company again. Very disappointed.

I like these. They work great. They are more bendable than I was expecting. But it isn't bad. It doesn't detract from the quality. My children love them.

I also received clear plastic flimsy rubbing plates! I always read reviews and thought I read the reviews for these but I guess not. I know I had a few set picked out and went with the best priced in the end but I wouldn't have purchased if i had seen the reviews. It must have slipped by me somehow. Very disappointed! I wouldn't have paid more than a couple dollars for this.

should have read the reviews. :( They are THIN PLASTIC, not the sturdy ones pictures. They would work for OCCASIONAL use but not for the three year old I bought them for. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED but if I send them back, the postage would be more than they are worth. Colors may vary??? How about NO color...

These are a clear/see-through plastic that are VERY thin. I wanted to use these in a preschool classroom, but I am afraid they will be too easily broken. I am SO disappointed as they looked sturdy in the picture. I will be looking for something else.

Take it to work with me for the kids at school. Seems very well made and so far no problems. Are used by roughly 40 kids. Holding up well.

I was disappointed to find the rubbing plates are so flexible that it is extremely difficult to get a clear imprint. I called the company and it was suggested that I tape them down or affix them to wood, etc. For the price, I would expect a better product.

I ordered these because our local butterfly sanctuary has a big set for use in the kid's art area. Well what a disappointment on Christmas morning to open the box to flimsy, clear, VERY THIN plastic. It's nearly impossible to tell the image on each and I am confident that even with careful use, these won't last through the year. The sturdy solid plates pictures are great, but what I was sent is just awful.

My students love these. I like the fact that the plates are a little sturdier than the thinner clear plastic plates I have also purchased. I tape a piece of paper over them and make K-1st graders guess what's underneath as they rub.

Very nice image, but a bit flimsy for young kids. Some have torn already. Still, its a good value, they produce a good image. The kids loved them

i have used rubbing plates of differing types for years in my classroom. the kids just love them. with this new job, i now have 2 new sets and plan to get more selections. i always have to use them too along w/ the kids. showing how to overlap and fill the entire page w/ a beautiful and colorful picture.

Absolutely not what you think you are getting from the picture. What arrives are these very cheap thin plastic things. Very unhappy
