Bark Collar ​for ​Small Dogs - ​Adjustable Shock & Vibration, ​Pain Free ​Bark Control

We have owned this collar for over a month and as a happy customer, I am updating my review to reflect our experience. Very happy with this dog barking collar made for small dogs. We have a Chihuahua, who has always been a very yappy dog and barks at everything and everyone. Last year we moved into our new home and that was when the problem got even worse. We hoped things would calm down after she got used to the new environment but, it never did. We did purchase a training clicker, a few whistles and books but, none of them worked. We would not dream of using a shock collar on her, or anything that we would consider inhumane.I was purchasing toys for my cats and items for my birds when I came across this barking collar, did some research on it, and read all the reviews for this collar and the other collars offered by this company. This one seemed to be the best fit for her since she is very small. My husband really liked the idea of this collar so, off it went into my cart.When it arrived, it came in a tin round box, along with a user manual placed on a key that you insert into your computer. There are several videos explaining how to use this barking collar. I also searched YouTube for videos other customers had made on this item, and found them to be informative. I charged the barking collar and fit the strap to size. The remainder strap I cut and then burned the ends to it would not fray. I was very happy that I could get a perfect fit because, her neck is so small. Then, I let her wear it for a day to get used to it.After the first day is when I turned on the barking collar. There is on button and a “S” button for sensitivity, which I started off at the lowest setting at first. I have since moved it to the right setting. The first time she barked the barking collar beeped and she ran under the table. Afterwards, she came out and looked around to see what happened. Later, she barked again and the same thing happened, the collar beeped, and she ran under the table. This went on for a day. During the first week, she would bark and the collar would beep, then she would hide. I think she started to finally figure out by the end of the week that when she barked, the collar beeped. By the second week, her barking was to a minimum. The third week, she rarely barked. By week four, is when the barking stopped entirely.As a stay at home mom, I don’t have time to go shopping and do almost all my shopping on Amazon. That being said, UPS comes to my door every day with packages along with the post office. Now, when the doorbell rings, she just looks at the door, whereas before she would run to the door, barking the whole way there. Our regular UPS driver and mail lady thought we no longer had a dog. LOL!At night, when we go to bed is when I remove the collar. She sleeps with us and the cats and her barking has never been an issue during this time. First thing in the morning is when I put the collar back on. This collar has really helped us with our barking dog and it did take time, it was not over night. Glad we purchased this barking collar and would recommend this item to other small dog owners. I would also suggest viewing videos on YouTube that other customers have made, that is how I learned a lot about this product.

First off, I never leave reviews on anything, but with something like this, I felt that people need to know what they're buying before they put it on their pet. My dog weighs 11 pounds and it was so hard to find a bark collar that would fit his tiny neck, so my options were limited to begin with. This collar works, but only when it wants to. My dog may bark 10 times before the 1st beep comes through, then it may or may not work again after the next 10 barks. My dog is a Maltipoo and has thick poodle-like hair around his neck which doesn't allow the collar to stay in the correct position all the time. When I contacted the maker/seller of this product via email I was referred to a YouTube video and told if correctly put together it wouldn't move - that's crap. The collar is exactly how the video says it should be and it still continues to move around his neck when he shakes his body. Also, when he and my 2 year old daughter are playing and she screams near him that also makes the collar randomly go off which sucks for my poor dog. So, like I said it works when it wants to and sometimes when it shouldn't. Unfortunately, there isn't many collars for a small dog to choose from, so this is what we're stuck with for the time being. It has helped the barking, but definitely not as much as advertised. I hope this helps anyone looking to buy this product for their dog. I gave 3 stars because it has helped, but it also has many inconveniences.

I have two small Maltese, I keep them trimmed short so their hair should not have interfered with function. I read all the instructions and watched all the instructional videos and followed them to a T.My first issue with the device is that despite what the instructions and product information say a single finger width of space for this is WAY to tight in my opinion and with the prongs it is just unsafe and uncomfortable for the animal especially given where it must be placed around their throat. Even still I gave it a shot.My second issue: The device at the most sensitive setting was very inconsistent in picking up my dogs barking and so only functioned part of the time. When it did work, it worked great but consistency is imperative when training a dog, it must cause reaction every time or it is confusing to the animal.My third issue was after several uses the beep function just stopped working all together, it would only vibrate. Then it would vibrate at random times when the dog was simply laying still. I will repeat, I followed all instructions to the letter including the tightness.I must say I was very disappointed because this one has been the only one so far that would fit a dog as small as mine without a shock, but it just did not work as advertised, appeared to be defective, and still in my opinion the requirements for making it work properly as all the instructional videos drill into you is just not kind to the pet.
