I have very sensitive teeth that are worn/chipped down to enamel on some. This is the only whitening product I have ever used that does not cause sensitivity for my teeth. It also allows some control for avoiding sensitive areas with the brush applicator. It actually works for whitening quickly and a noticeable difference after two applications. It says to use five minute sessions, twice daily. I do both sessions back to back and still no sensitivity. Love this product!!

People did notice my whiter teeth, but I never quite reached a satisfactory whiteness for my own liking. I am elderly - my teeth are elderly, perhaps that is shy. The yellow around the gum line never quite seemed to go away. I purchased the set with the activating light, which does not stay on very long during the process... If you research the activator light, it appears some authorities do not believe it is not a vital part of the process. Since the price is higher you may want to read up on this. Still yet, I certainly am whiter!

(5 stars for the luscious lip balm!) Update: I am not sure this whitens as well as the better more 'luxe' Crest Whitestrips - I do have some whitening but it doesn't seem as intense as the Crest WS. With Crest, I see really noticeable results but with these I see initial results but my teeth still seem somewhat dull. Maybe these refills I purchased were old. I just purchased my old stand-by Crest Whitestrips so that tells me I am not completely happy with these refills. --------- (Note this review is for the gel pens only. You have to purchase the LED thing separately.) I have used Crest Whitestrips for years, about 2 times a year, and have had great results. In comparison with this SmileDirect Club whitening system, using the LED light with it, Crest may have a slight edge in more faster noticeable results in that you can see Crest Whitestrips whitening sooner than with SmileDirect. SmileDirect, however, is the cheaper whitening system once you have the LED light thing and only need these refills. SmileDirect is quicker to use, in theory: 2x a day for 5 minutes and then after you spit out the foamy residue, you wait another 20 minutes before you can rinse your mouth (but there's not a bad taste or anything at all while you wait), for 7-8 days. This is using the LED light. On its own the solution it won't be as effective. Crest is 30 minutes of having the strips on your teeth, 2x a day, for 12-14 days. So, even if Crest whitens faster after one or two uses, you have to use it much longer -- but I like that the whitening is more intense. I also have had no gum or tooth irritation or sensitivity with SmileDirect; something I can't always say about Crest Whitestrips as the strips sometimes do make my teeth sensitive--perhaps it is stronger, or simply because the solution is on my teeth for longer. Note that I already have white teeth to begin with that need occasional brightening. I use this for coffee stains, mostly, as well as for berries, and the very occasional glass of red wine that might stain my teeth. The big standout is the lip balm--I love this stuff! I bought that separately!

For an oral hygiene product I really didn’t expect it to come used but a pen was missing, one pen had been used and gel was all around the lid and the lip balm had lipstick on it? Really gross and disappointing.
