Brave Enough

While I love Cheryl strayed's writings and all the quotes that made up this book, I do feel rather shortchanged because there's nothing new here. For the money, its just quotes from her previously published stuff that I have anyway or have read anyway.

Absolutely soul nourishing nuggets when you are in doubt or when you just need a pat or reassurance. Keep a copy in your handbag and meet the world with a smile!

This is one of the most original and peaceful collection of chaotic yet relatable thoughts of any person on earth!! Some might feel that the quotes are too vague.. but no good book settles unto your soul unless you struggle a bit.. reading it over and over again! The quotes are very beautifully arranged with varying fonts and size and designs.. one quote per page.. I wish the copyright act would have let me upload a few pictures of the content... but let that awe you at once, when you read this piece of work by Cheryl strayed.. The book will surely come to anyone's rescue, who needs a little nudge, to move forward in life, or get back up... I bought it to gift someone.... but I guess, I need to order a few more copies... This year I am giving this book to everyone, for their birthdays!! Also... The condition of the book was good.. but it would be highly appreciated if the seller would send it in a carton or cardboard packaging.. as plastic packing ruins the corners a little bit. 1 star short for the packaging.. the book deserves 5 stars..

This is a wonderful book of quotes from Cheryl Strayed. Most are brutally honest and slaps you on the face with the truth. 'Must read' for those who love quotes and random musings.

If you've read TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS and WILD by Cheryl Strayed, I'd suggest to skip this book. Those two books are amazing beyond words. This is just a collection of quotes, mostly from those two books and I'd say not worth the money I spent on it. Makes a good coffee table book for gifts to friends (who haven't read those books) though.

Don’t mistake Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed to be another unforgettable memoir like Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail which the author penned a few years back. The only thing the two have in common is that both sparkled with warmth and humor. Wild was a fascinating and entertaining memoir while Brave Enough is a small book of inspirational/motivational quotes. Perhaps, that is exactly what many readers really need. These thoughtful, sensible, funny, and intelligent quotes are full of wit and wisdom. It is a book that can be devoured within a short time, but one you will refuse to put away as you may want visit again and again. Certainly words that will impact you, and words to live by, Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed may be disappointing for those who want to know more about Cheryl Strayed since Wild, but it is definitely a sign of the state of her health as she wants to be an inspirer to others.

I love Cheryl Strayed! I guess because I relate, although I never had the courage to backpack more than an overnight hike and that alone was enough to say “I will never sleep in a pup tent that is not waterproof! I relate to her mother, although I never owned a horse and if I did I would not have the finances to care for one. It is her heart her gentleness., and her willingness/inability not to be herself that I love. Even though I’m not good at that, in the end, I do it without trying. I should probably be talking about the book but it’s the writers words/experiences that draw me in. I see myself in so many of these quotes. She is compassionate and sincere. She challenges our thoughts and fears. She calls us out when that needs to happen because no one else will. I actually got this book at an e-library. It was one quote that told me…you need to buy this book. You see I am a mother who lost a child, a dear sweet child who told me only 1 week before his passing I was his best friend. Words that will live in my heart and spirit for years and after my passing years to come. She reminds me of the pain one goes through alone when you think no one knows. A feeling you think belongs only to you. I sent that page, of course included the author, to another mother in my position. I said, I hope I’ve not done this to you because I know before I experienced it, I would have done that. She wrote me back in the text and said not you but a lot of people do. I knew that pain. Rarely do we grieving mothers or should I say parent talk about the hurt that comes from our dearest people. It’s just so easy to assume what one would feel or should feel. Thank you Cheryl for understanding the deepest pain of grief. The best writers are the ones who write from experience. Don’t just check this book out, buy it, cherish it, a go to when you need to feel normal and whole, and seeking connection.

Beautiful, wise quotes that make you feel a little bit more human after reading them. A lot are from Cheryl's previous books, but a lot are new as well. Highly recommend to anyone.

This resonated so much with me. The quotes are beautiful, vulnerable, touching, funny and above so real! A gorgeous read and can not but leave one in a more conscious, open state.
