PanaVise PortaGrip Phone Holder with Telescoping Windshield Mount

I've had this for 10 years. It still functions great and holds my phone where I need it.I will say: be careful how close you let it sit to your dash. Depending on how low you mount it, it can sag just a little bit and move around a bit while in motion, enough to scratch up the dash if it makes contact. I learned this the hard way and now have a small spot that has been scratched up on the dash of my 2002 Explorer Sport Trac (can be seen in the attached photo). Mount it high enough and you will not have this problem. Movement and sag is minimal, especially with a phone in the vise.

It could be a bit sturdier but the nature of the type of holder it is it may not be possible based on the weight of the phone and the length of it in extended position.

Works great... bought one for my work truck, and both of my personal vehicles. All three perform great.I mounted ours to the windshield at a height where the ARM could rest on the edge of the dash board and extend to where my finger could manipulate the map, without my hand leaving the steering wheel, and keeping my eyes on the road. In this configuration, i found it helpful to add a piece of 3/4" armorflex pipe insulation... or a cut open pool noodle under the arm to smooth out the bumps in the road.Spend the money.... don't waste your time on 2 or 3 cheap ones that drop your phone, or break, or fall off the windshield. Just get the real deal once, and be done with it. Your time is valuable.

Absolutely the best. Living in Chicago and leaving my car street parked outside, I’ve always had trouble with phone dash/windshield mounts in the summer or winter. Some would lose suction when the windshield gets freezing cold in the winter, and some would literally melt from the hot glass in the summer. I’ve finally found one that sticks to the glass through it all.I’ve also had trouble with the phone clamp on other models. Many lose their “click” in certain temperatures and some lose the spring open feature over time meaning you have to pry the phone out. This one feels incredibly heavy duty and I haven’t had any issues with it at all. It’s very easy to place and clamp the phone in with one hand as well as take it out too. I’ve yet to have the phone fall out of it.It’s a bonus that the overall build quality and adjustability is excellent too. It’s also highly customizable through parts that can be purchased through the Panavise website. This is great if you are in need of a more custom configuration or would like to mount something other than a phone. Modularity also means you won’t need to replace the whole thing if one piece breaks. Pair that with its lifetime warranty and you’ve got a real winner here.As others have mentioned, the arm will rest against your dash and could potentially scratch your dash over time. If you care to protect your dash, it’s not a bad idea to stick something to the bottom of the arm where it touches the dash. Adhesive velcro, a rubber-band, furniture pads, rubber feet, or gluing a piece of felt or rubber to the arm would all be great options. I haven’t cared enough and have been using the arm without anything to protect the dash and after a year my dash is still fine though.

We ordered this back in March 2015 and we've been using it since. It is by far the best ever phone mount that we have used. We drive a big rig and so it's important that our phone is within reach and hands-free operation. The jarring that a big rig takes is significant, due to poor road conditions all over the United States. The unit is heavy and we've counteracted this by having the arm resting on the dash. Every other mount that we've had has broken and compared to this beauty, they were very poorly made. The only problem we've had with the unit is the side grips have started to fail (keep in mind that we are using this unit continually, and often remove and replace our phones - depending upon who is driving - multiple times per day. However, since this unit has a lifetime warranty, I am sure that we will either get another unit or replacement parts for the side grips. By far the best unit you could buy.Update - We've now had the mount just over two years. We have never had an issue with it coming off of the windshield. The weight of the arm started to wear into our dash, we counteracted that with a piece of foam pipe insulation. The only issue that we have is that we would like the arm to extend out further allowing for easier access to the phone while driving our big rig. Although it will fit our iPhone 6S+, on rough roads the phone will slide out - the arms and bottom feet are really not deep enough to hold the 6S+ that is in an Otter box case. We wish the company would make a bigger cradle. The side arm holders for the phone had to be taped into place to stop them from moving and sliding down. If you clamp the phone too tight, one of the side arms will pop out. However, unlike other cradles where if anything happens to the side arms your phone mount is toast. With this unit the side arms will snap back in place, as they are meant to flex.

I have tried several different cell phone mounts for my cars/trucks, and this is the first one that has actually lived up to the hype and more. There is nothing on this mount that seems low quality. The construction is very solid, with much of it being metal. It has a huge range of adjust-ability. The suction cup is HUGE, compared to others I have tried, and very sticky. It has gone through many cycles of freezing and heating (right next to the defroster vent) without the least tendency to come loose. The whole apparatus lays on the top of the dash board causing no obstruction of visibility and relieving stress on the suction cup. It holds my phone securely just above the upper-most gauges/switches on the dash, almost seeming like part of the dash board itself and very easy to see during navigation. Do I sound enthusiastic? I am. I have wasted far too much time and money on too many car mounts, all of which have been dismal failures. This is it, the one that actually works.

I love it, easy to move from my personal vehicle to my work truck. Only negitive thing is, I wish it had wireless charging capability.

The best cell phone holder I’ve ever bought. Was sick and tired of breaking lower quality holders. RAM holders did not have anything that looked great. Panavise turns out to be a 50+ year old company making all the GO Pro holders... this unit is actually aluminum and hard professional quality commercial plastic. Will be able to be used easily for a decade. Buying another for our other car.

If you need the versatility this offers then this is perfect.I've had several of these same mounts over the years and they are all super.

Support de très bonne qualité, le système de la ventouse permet au support de vraiment très bien coller au pare-brise même avec le porte-à-faux du bras téléscopique déplié. Ce dernier est très facile à ajuster pour avoir le tel au plus près du volant! Packaging soigné, je recommande!
