Insane battery Life
Just to say that these have been faultless since purchase. Used direct with Home Assistant without Aqara Hub. A little noisy but it is what it is, I use them in my living room so not really disturbed by them moving. I wouldn't use them in the bedroom...no noise happens in there anymore. What prompted my to review is the battery life! I charged them on 11 July 23 and only now they require charging again, 04 Aug 25. I have fairly heavy curtains that operate twice a day. Phenomenal. Would definitely buy more but I have blinds everywhere else in the house.

They are expensive but
It's not cheap but they are strong and have really good battery so last a good couple of months. I have a long USB c cable and big battery to charge them every 3 months.

Works well
Works well doesn't fit some curtains poles so make sure it is compatible before you buy also the unit is bit wide and won't fit in between the ringlets in some curtains. When the unit is installed it looks hidden and it's not noticeable. For the price it's quite good but the switch bot 3 may suit some people better . The unit is built well and feels like it will run forever. Set up was through the app using the hub and was quite easy and didn't take long . If you have 2 sided curtains you will need to buy two units.

Never closed curtain properly after first time
Setup was ok, I bought 2 and although the process for combining them was a little unintuitive in the Aqara app it all worked! HomeKit integration works great too. The problem is that they never quite keep the same position after the first few times of opening and closing. The get progressively worse and close the curtains less and less as time goes on. To the point where I’ve reset and repositioned mine about 4 or 5 times now having set the curtains to close only to find there’s a huge gap where the roller hasn’t closed the curtain properly. In summary, don’t buy these. You’ll only waste your money like I have. Opening the curtains is fine, but closing them never really works.

I love these things!
Installed them for a family smart home security project and the weight they can shift is really quite impressive. Highly recommended. Haven't tried them with alexa/google home integration yet, but certain they'll do the trick

Excellent Home Assistant Integration
Works very well with Home Assistant and Zigbee2mqtt. Using Sonoff Zigbee stick. No need for Aqara hub.

The roller stopped suddenly without any reason after a month of usage.
I have set it up a month ago, without any reason one of them stopped working suddenly. I tried restarting it or repairing it, but nothing helped. It seems like it got broken from the inside or something is wrong with is. Not to say that this device is not good but mine could have some issues. The other one is working very well so far.

The idea behind the solution is perfect but it did not deliver the outcome. The solution is not strong enough to pull the weight limit stated in the box.

Curtain robots that actually work.

If you follow the instructions correctly, this thing works well. For the Rod version specifically that meant that I had to buy a non-extending rod so that the diameter is the same across the entire rod and it needed to be within the 25-32mm (0.98 to 1.26 inches) diameter range exactly. I bought something on Amazon called "BlastHome® Non-Adjustable Luxury Curtain Rods for Windows, 1 ¼” Rod Set" which is 1.25 inches, so at the upper limit of what the E1 supports. I have one on a 7 foot rod and one on a 4.5 foot rod, both opening the entire width from left to right rather than being two per rod and opening in the middle. It's better that way for the blackout blinds. On the 7 foot rod i have 4 times 52 inch wide panels and it has no problem pushing and pulling them. The little rubber strip included in the box is essential to making it work because it keeps the folds close enough so that the grommet doesn't go sideways and block the movement. It's not the most elegant solution with the plastic clips but it does work and if you put them close enough they sort of hide away in the folds of the curtain. I'm sure you could sew them into the material directly instead of using the clips for a more seamless solution. I'm running Home Assistant with a Conbee II Zigbee usb key and it paired right away, just hold the button for a few seconds and enable joining. I'm triggering them in the morning and evening with a little 6 button zigbee remote I have and I timed the blinds to have the automation start the bigger blind first and then start the smaller one exactly when needed so they finish at the same time, in either direction. If you know what you're doing, this thing is good. Be careful though, I ordered 3 at first and two of them were clearly used. One was missing the rubber strip and the other was missing the rubber strip and the clips.
