Ignatius Bible Hard Cover
I bought the hardcover edition from Amazon a few months ago. It is an excellent Bible.Quality: The cover appears to be of very high quality. The spine is not extremely firm, and I fear it may not hold up extremely well in the long run, but it is still bound well. The paper is not exceedingly thick, but thicker than some Bible paper I have handled. The actual print is very nice, and a little larger than the standard red paper-back version of the New American Bible that most Catholics are accustomed to. This makes it easier to read in dimly lit chapels. It also lacks the extensive footnotes of the New American Bible (I don't like the NAB footnotes anyway), but there is a study version available for the New Testament, and there should be an Old Testament version available eventually.Translation: The translation is excellent. It has my favorite rendering of Psalm 23 and the 'Our Father' prayer (the version actually used in Mass). It is closer to a literal translation than the New American Bible, but the style is beautiful and very readable. The only negative I notice is that it translates 'Amen' as 'Truly'. We still say 'Amen' in Mass. There is no great 'Truly', we don't say 'Truly' before we receive Christ in the Eucharist; we still say 'Amen'. So it should be in the Scriptures. But, aside from this, I enjoy the translation more than other versions I have read.In summary, this hardcover Bible is of excellent quality in both physical construction and translation. I have physically compared the paperback and leather-bound versions to hardcover version, and personally find that the hardcover is the best buy for the money (at the time of this writing, the hardcover is only a few dollars less than the paperback, and the leather-bound version is unavailable, but on other sites is more expensive). All versions of binding are excellent, and I would definitely recommend this Bible, for both prayerful reading and for study (both of which you should participate in!).

Must have bible
I hesitated for a few months to buy this bible because - do I really need another bible? I was in search of a portable Catholic Bible that I could see (I am blind as a bat) and was bigger than the 6 or 7 size font available. I settled on the GNT Catholic Bible which is a great bible, excellent font and cute pictures but it was too thick to carry. So I bit the bullet and went with this bible after noticing the number of pages was less than the "portable" GNT Catholic Bible. This Bible does not disappoint. The leather is nice, the font is clear and crisp - absolutely readable and I like the creamy colored paper. The paper is thicker than most bibles which is nice. It is very portable so I can bring it with me everywhere I go. I love it!

Absolutely STUNNING!
This Bible will be my best friend for when I start OCIA in September this year, I was raised as a baptist since I was young and after much studying on early church history I made the decision to join his Church! The Bible is incredible, the words aren’t to small the pages are easy to turn and the book feels very sturdy I know I will have this for many years to come. All glory to my Lord Jesus Christ.

This is an easy hardcover book to read, forgetting time forget time.
This book is a very nice size book to hold. or use as a text book on a table. The print is a good size. the paper in the book are yellow, which makes it easire on the eyes to read for a long period of time. The English in this book is easy to understand, which make it a good book for a church pew, classroom text book, or just a nice book to relax with and read like a novel.

This is an excellent Bible for Catholics.
I am starting to read the Bible in a Year. I had a New American Bible Revised Edition lying around, but heard that it has a lot of flawed footnotes and isn't the best translation. This Bible is excellent for those who want a Catholic Bible that is somewhere between so literal that it's unreadable and so modern that it loses its value. While I gave it five stars because I do love the translation as well as the overall appearance of this Bible, I do wish that it had a bit more study tools. It lacks the introduction of each chapter that my NABRE has, and its footnotes are minimal to none. I know this isn't a study Bible but there really is not much guiding you here. I also wish it had a tassle.Anyway, i still recommend this Bible highly! And look forward to the study edition which is coming out later this year.
