Considering buying Miele dishwasher. How frequently must you refill the salt dispenser, and how many boxes (approx.) do you buy per month/year?

We've had our Miele dishwasher more than four years and I'm just now ordering its third box of salt, counting the box it came with. Each box has lasted us about 25 months. We run 2-4 loads a week and our water is not particularly hard. It's the best dishwasher I've ever used, quiet and effective, everyone loves it.

If I don't have a Miele dishwasher, where would I put this salt? Thanks!

Remove the lower rack of your dishwasher and look for the salt cap in the dishwasher's floor area (inside the dishwasher). If your dishwasher has one, you'll see it. Just unscrew the salt cap and add the slat into the opening. If you don't see a salt cap inside your dishwasher then you won't be able to add salt to it. Not all dishwashers have that feature.

The product that came does not have English on it and just want to confirm this is salt for dishwashing machines?

Yes, it is salt for the Meile. It’s original SALZ also in English Salt. Works well with my Miele dishwasher. Each individual bag is measure perfectly for the washer.

Is this salt better than Finish salt?

I have no idea. And, I don't notice any difference with or without any salt at all.
