This isn't built like Fort Knox. In fact, if you look closely, it is pretty weak. But as a visual deterrent from 10 feet away, it works great. High visibility likely makes a thief continue to drive by to consider other things to steal. I use it on my trailers (boat, utility, travel) and I just put one on the street visible side of the trailer. This is like a locking front door handle, it keeps the lazy thief away from your stuff. If you have something they want, they will come by and steal it no matter what you do.

This works great, even though my tires are larger and they don't fit into any of the rim slots. At first I was disappointed, but when I put the first one on and removed the wheel chock on the other Tire, this tire clamp gripped my tire and completely stopped the trailer from rolling down the slight Hill. It is a very sturdy anti-theft mechanism that I'm going to purchase for my camper trailer now that I see how well it works for my regular trailer. I highly recommend for everyone and it works for the larger tires as well

I've only used this 3 times since I bought it 6 months ago. Today one of the locks failed the key wouldn't open it.A few light taps with a hammer onto the lock surface and the lock broke and popped right open.Buy a heavy chain and run it through the wheels instead.

Bought one last year for a neighbor ... this is same quality only cheaper price. Lock feels substantial and I was happy to see the the keys (2pak) were unique and nice that it comes with 3 keys per lock. I suspect thieves will move on to the unprotected cart as it would definitely take effort and noise to remove the boot.
