Fell Short of my Expectations
It does what it promises to do, but it fell short of my expectations. I wanted software to back up my new Windows 10 system. I want to be able to completely backup and restore the bootable system drive as well as restore individually selected files. This software does do both. The problem is that you have to do two separate backups. One that allows the full system restore and another that allows you to restore individual files. Essentially doubling the amount of space required to do backups. I’m used to software like Norton Ghost (which, unfortunately, Symantec has killed off) and Acronis True Image that allow you to do a single backup and then select the type of restoration you want to use when the time comes. Also, the selection of backup schemes is limited to a few preprogrammed patterns - none of which seem to allow you to keep more than two backup chains. It lacks a method for creating custom schemes. I would like to be able to create a scheme that allows for the creation of three or four differential backup chains with a new full backup taken once each week. On the plus side, the software is very easy to use. While I found it to be limiting, some might find its simplicity to be a benefit. It’s also well documented and provides good explanations of its features.

Failed When I Needed it the Most
I purchased directly from AOMEI, and as others stated that's because the free version is next to useless. But as it turns out the Pro version is not only next to useless, it cost money to do it! I had two images for restoration that were tested after creation and worked as expected. That was 6 months ago, and then yesterday when my system died from a Win11 upgrade, AOEMI Backupper and another of their products, OneKey failed to restore my PC. I spent hours trying to trouble shoot the system and I am a very experienced IT guy. I'm certain it was a boot loader issue, but I was "denied access" when attempting to repair via WinPE. So I decided to just reinstall the system manually. I was thinking that maybe the install from Win10 to Win11 caused issues because of UEFI, but not certain so I decided to retry Backupper. However, my lifetime Pro version can't be reinstalled because it is tied to that previous install. That means they don't know how to differentiate between a software change vs a hardware change. It's all the same to them. So the new install of Backupper Pro failed for a licensing problem and I can not find a way to deauthorize the PC since they don't have a proper account system for doing this. I contacted their 24/7/365 support available as a Pro feature and 16 hours later I'm still waiting for a reply. I can not recommend them. Software failed to do the one thing I bought it for - system restoration. Secondarily the tech support is a joke as is their website. Go look at it for yourself - done by armatures!

Not Working for me
I had the free version for a while and thought I'd upgrade to the pro version. I found that I could not backup a 4tb drive in one backup. It had to be broken down into four separate backup jobs. A real PITA.

It works really well, but the instructions need work
I have had the PAID pro version for several years. They make it better which each upgrade and the product works really well. I just encountered a disaster with Windows 10 upgrading to v2014 and encountered every problem imaginable, the system restore (windows made) point did not fix it but the AOMEI back up I created reversed the damage and I now have a working machine. I restored from bootable media and it took a LONG time but it booted up and I had a fully working computer. Here are the negatives: The instructions are poorly written and you can encounter messages that are hard to navigate. I took a leap of faith and everything worked out great. But sometimes their English is misleading or confusing so be aware. Still I would suggest everyone have this level of backup software. PS: This allows you to protect individual files or folders or entire drives. The incremental backups are fast and easy to navigate. They also have decent customer service via email. Bottom line: Worth the money.

Cloned PCIe via USB and it was Bootable
Downloaded AOMEI Backupper 4.6.1 specifically for the disk clone feature. I cloned my Dell laptop Win10 PCIe SSD to a new drive connected externally via USB as a disaster recovery option. Once the clone completed, I swapped SSDs and the new one booted without any perceptible issues. I've tried other companies' products, and they were not able to accomplish the same result (cloning bootable SSDs via USB was not supported).

Crashes and did not restore.
We purchased the multi-license version of Aomei Backupper from someone other than Amazon. Aomei has been nothing but problems. We had three servers that needed on-site backup as well as a number of personal workstations. Since the day we installed Aomei, the servers experienced constant crashes and BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), which required hard restarts. One server was just a SQL Server. No users logged on. It just served SQL. It was just Server 2019 and SQL. That's it. It should run for months, possibly years, without issue. We were needing to do a hard restart on it every two or three days. We kept looking through all the servers for the problem. And this went on for months. Obviously we are reluctant to remove our backup solution, but eventually tried removing Aoemei. The crashes stopped. After that, we updated to the latest version of Aomei and reinstalled. The crashes started again. Two of the servers were Server 2019, and one was Server 2012. On a whim, we decided to try a test restore of one of the servers to another virtual server. The test restore would not start. This software is BAD news. To think we put our trust in this software to keep our data safe, only to find the test restore would not start. You could be in that situation at a critical moment. Not good. To be fair, we did not have crash problems with personal workstations. Nor did we try a test restore. But based on our experience, we have zero confidence in this product.

Write up about program said you could clone a hhd to a m2 ssd. Gave errors and would not do as advertised. Tried on 2 separate machines and drives. Same errors on both machines.

Cela me permet de cloner mes disques durs et de faire la sauvegarde de mes documents pou être certain de ne pas perdre mes données. Je peux changer le disque sans attendre et de recommencer à zéro. Cela me sauve beaucoup de temps.

I have never been stranded or left simply cursing due to inability to restore my system. Have been using Aomei for several years and see no reason to try anything else.
