Does the opposite of what it claims
Very disappointed! These glasses are designed to help you relieve stress, NOT. The first pair wouldn't charge, I wasted my Sunday afternoon trying to figure out what's going on. I couldn't find anything online until an amazon buyer finally responded to my question and said that she had the same issue and had to send them back for repair. I received a second pair 4 days later with the same exact issue. Now I have to use time of my already crazy busy day to stop at the post office to return them. Advice if you're thinking about buying these glasses; Lower your expectation (big time), unless you are trying to study how to turn a great idea into a crappy product. Thank you for this great lesson.

Very frustrating / over-engineered
Sensors are fiddly and somewhat unreliable compared to the original Muse headband. What is extremely frustrating is to have to go through all the patronizing "lessons" in order to unlock the optional soundscapes and other functionalities. One would expect that a device at that price would come fully functional, and not have to go through endless training sessions: these should be optional, for those who have never done meditation, mindfulness or self-hypnosis before. You have to end up tricking the system, letting it run while watching TV with the glasses on, in order to collect enough "experience points" to access what you want.

Start is hit & miss
I had been a using Muse headband for couple of years, found it very helpful, was excited about Smith Lowdown focus & bought it after long contemplation due to price especially for train commute where meditating on headband is odd.Only thing someone copying tech from Muse had to do was get the start feature right but sorry to say I am Highly dissatisfied & disappointed with the start feature. Tapping as advertised rarely works, often requires banging and many times banging/tapping for 2-3 mins also doesn't put it on. I wonder with poor plastic build how long this would last.I work in high-tech industry & compelled to say -Classic example of "poor product design & quality" i.e. how could someone miss solving for unable to start & use your product.

Good one. With update
I like it more than muse and muse 2. Smith app is different I like man voice better and sensor in my opinion more accurate for me. The only cumbersome part is charger. It can be done better. Hope it will work. I have glasses for couple days just for meditation during commute on train. Will update later on how it goes.Update on July 22. I love them. I have muse 2 that almost do not use. Smith glasses I use every day I am on level 15. To pass it I need to do 30 min every day for 7 days. It is my second attempt to pass first failed with some app glitch. I was on track but on day 6 it said I missed one day. I think they have some issues with server client time zone checks. There are other issues with app. I learned how to and when chagre device. Few times it stopped working after all night charging. But usually it lasts 3 - 5 days on every day use. I use it at home in the office and on train during commute. Some time I do more than 2 hours a day. Going to by me lenses just for fun I like mirror blue or orange ones. I think I am lucky with device I that I got so far not issues.

My pair won't charge. Try them immediately.
I wanted to love these. I agree with the other reviewers... expensive sunglasses that add stress rather than remove it. My pair were a gift and I am outside the return window for Amazon. I have contacted Smith warranty to see about repair or replacement. I will update my review if I am able to have these repaired or replaced but for the moment I have an expensive pair of sunglasses only. Best of luck. Great idea. Poor charging solution.

Great form factor, love this product
Even though I have a Muse headband, I still prefer using these glasses. They are great for travel, or when I want to meditate in a public place. The charger is a little finicky, but I haven’t had any major problems.

Revolutionary, BUT...
For me, this product was nothing short of revolutionary. I had never been able to focus properly or “get in the zone” to experience real benefit of meditation. After a few days using Lowdown Focus, something clicked in my brain and I was able to stay deep in the zone for minutes at a time. I have increasingly harnessed the power within myself and experienced many things during meditation I could never previously have imagined. My moods and energy are more balanced, and I’m calmer overall. However, the build quality of this product is subpar. I’m already on my second pair, as the charger of the first pair I ordered could barely stay clipped on, and the sensors had great difficulty maintaining signal quality to finish even a single session. This second pair has been only marginally better, and now despite regular usage over several months and fastidious cleaning, it appears I will need to return again due to the sensors’ inability to maintain signal quality.I feel very grateful to everyone who brought this product to market, and I have high hopes for the benefits of this technology to humankind, but first they need to devote themselves to quality assurance in manufacturing and design. For this price, the product really should work without issue...

Defective product from new
I use the Muse band and love it, but this - the Smith Focus sunglasses - charged spasmodically, was frustrating as noted by another reviewer, in having to go through tests to get to the real program. I returned these because of the charging issue. While confirming this was a defective unit, Smith advised they could no longer replace it. I could use up to $349 to choose one pair of sunglasses from their portfolio. Since these are the most expensive sunglasses, I automatically lose $129 whatever I choose.
