ivy 4 String IYV IJBA-200 NA Bass Solid-Body Electric Guitar, Natural

I had purchased two IYV Les Paul style guitars on Amazon and was already happy with the quality of those guitars for the price. This IYV bass also did not disappoint. The body is solid ash so the bass has some weight to it. Tuners and pups are fine but my plan is to still upgrade the pups. Of course, the stings make your fingers black. While most people like the look of the metal covers over the neck pup and bridge, I have no idea how anyone can play this bass with those covers??? So, they will be removed in my case and I shared photos with and without the covers.

This bass plays and sounds every bit as good as my Made in Mexico Fender Jazz bass that cost nearly $900. Even my band mates praise its sound—and these guys are very brand-oriented. The dismal photo of it on Amazon doesn’t do it justice at all. I took off the chrome covers that it comes with. This is my second IYV and I am delighted with the brand.

I don't know when I got so lucky, but this guitar was spot on in all aspects. I used it to gig right out of the box, although I thought it would need some work first. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this guitar was. For the money you can't go wrong at the beauty and playability of this. You may get one that needs to be worked on, but I don't see how you can go wrong. Good Luck!!!

This is my third IVY instrument & they have all been great guitars. After a little set-up this bass sounds great. I am a big fan of ash guitars & basses & the body is beautiful - gorgeous grain & very resonant.I love all my IVY/IYV guitars. Unbelievable quality for the money. I will say it again. Unbelievable quality for the money. Plays good.

The clear gloss looked good with a few minor flaws. The pickups sound decent, the bass is very heavy, Tuning machines are decent but a little stiff. The bridge is very light weight and a 2+3 screw 5 hole design instead of the more common 5 across. It needed some setup due to fret buzz, but nothing out of the ordinary for a lower priced instrument that was shipped halfway around the world. This is my second IYV bass and I’ve been happy with both purchases.

It is as good as any jazz bass I have ever played in my life. And better than most.

Absolutely beautiful! Feels, looks and plays wonderfully. Only minor adjustments were needed to the action and intonation, neck was straight. A nice hefty bass with a great sound and vintage-ish look. I love it.
