I love all their products and Amazon had it for a better price delivered than the big box stores

Though I seem to be in the minority, I did not experience any burning with this product. I applied as instructed both with the setting on the spreader and the distance apart per application. I watered thoroughly after the fact and have continued to water as normal. About a week later, my grass is green and healthy.For reference, I water all 4 zones of my yard for an hour daily. Tall fescue. In Virginia clay with no shade in the heat of summer, watering an hour a day every day is necessary to keep my lawn green and vibrant. During the dog days of summer, mid-July through September, I water an hour in the early morning and then half an hour in the afternoon.I say that because maybe it was the extent of watering that kept my lawn from burning. Now, my lawn is the greenest its ever been in the summer. For comparison, last summer my lawn really suffered in the heat. It was thin and damaged. This year, after applying scotts products, including summer guard, my lawn remains green and grows healthily even when my neighbors lawns have stagnated in the heat.4 stars because there is much more product in the bag than 5000sqft if you apply as directed (3 3/4 on rotary spreader 5 feet apart).

My HOA does such a horrible job of maintaining our lawns that I resolved to search out the best products to try to keep my St. Augustine looking its best without spending a lot of money which would be wasted due to poor mowing, etc.This year, I decided to follow the guidance provided by the free Scotts phone app, which includes applying this product. In comparison to past years, my lawn looks great, and I haven't had to spend a fortune on products.Scotts does advise using a variety of products, some of which are not easily available locally. Fortunately, Amazon offers the ones I need at a decent price, which has simplified lawn care quite a bit.I've tried more expensive products, but I'm not sure they work any better. The Scotts app has simplified choosing what to apply, and when, so at the moment my lawn will continue to be fed with Scotts fertilizers.

Just as expected

Product is great and will work perfect through-out the season as long as you follow the correct type and quantity at the correct time that is described by Scotts! The packaging IS ANOTHER ISSUE with the most resent order! I ordered two 15,000 sq. ft. bags. Each of the two bags were shipped in their own boxes. When the two boxes were opened both bags did not have a complete seal along the top corner of both bags. The bags during the fill process then get heat sealed and it was evident that the corner of both bags was not sealed but open. It was only one of the two bags that allowed a large portion of the material to flow out into the box and then when the box was opened it was all over the ground. Amazon C.S. after providing pictures had replaced one of the two bags.

I purchased online because it seems no one is stocking this in my area anymore. This product works good on chinch bugs and fertilizes at the same time. My only complaint is that one out of two bags i purchased was clumped and unusable in the spreader. To be fair it can be difficult to find good non clumped fertilizer locally because the big box stores don't always store it properly either. Needless to say, I had to return one bag.
