Covers the exposed area.
Fit is a little buckled but it does lock into the grove. It's just a little wavey. Not sure this won't settle out to a more flat fit eventually. However, it does fit in the grooves and I feel like the port is protected. My concern is putting this on the latched tripod and the waviness of the cover. Have not tried that yet.Better than the electrician's tape I was using and I may put some electricians tape over this cover to make it super flat.

Get one, just in case
Every photographer should have a few extra items. Back ups for the just in case moment. This is one of those. Fits nicely. You should definitely have one or two.

Okay replacement for people not wanting spend premium on a piece of rubber.
The rubber is kind of flimsy, but I didn’t really expect perfection from a third party part. Does the job, which is the least I expected!
