I’ve had the Betta SE solar pool skimmer running in my in-ground pool for about a month now, and I’m seriously impressed with how much easier it’s made my pool maintenance routine. First off, the solar power is a game-changer. I live in a sunny area, and this little robot just floats around all day collecting leaves, bugs, pollen, and other surface debris — no cords, no charging hassles. On overcast days, the battery still holds up for hours, and just keeps going! What I love: It cleans constantly and quietly — my pool surface looks clean every time I go outside. The basket is easy to remove and clean. It’s surprisingly large and catches both fine and larger debris. No hoses or installation needed — just drop it in and let it go. It handles saltwater well, and the solar panels are solid and waterproof. Minor considerations worth mentioning: It occasionally gets stuck near the skimmer entrance or pool steps. Not often, but enough to mention. I fixed this by adding the included pool noodle near the skimmer to block it from jamming. Doesn’t always clean tight corners or edges — a quick manual skim every few days helps. Price is a bit steep, but worth it if you hate skimming like I do. Overall, the Betta SE is a great investment if you want to spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your pool. I’d absolutely recommend it, especially for pools that get a lot of leaves or pollen. Just give it some sunlight and let it do its thing! ✅ Would I buy it again? This skimmer is amazing! It's one of the best purchases I've made. My pool gets a lot of debris because our neighbor's trees are up against the wall, and sometimes the branches are over the property. It was getting exhausting having to manually skim almost every day. I was not able to keep up, especially when we get sandstorms. This skimmer can handle getting all the debris. The pool looks so much cleaner than before. I do have a pool suction cleaner, but it was still not enough for all the debris the pool gets. Now that I have both, it is so much better. I usually clean it once a week unless it is windy, and then I clean it the next day once the wind has calmed down. Some debris can get caught in the gear, but a metal pick and hook tool takes it right out. During the winter, the pool was not getting a lot of sun, so I had to turn it off and put it where it was getting more sun so it could charge. It is solar power, so it doesn't require charging from an outlet. Be aware that if your pool doesn't get a lot of sun, you will have to turn it off and let it charge in the sun. If your pool doesn't get a lot of sun, I don't recommend buying because it will be frustrating having to recharge in the sun often. It is not a "smart" skimmer, but it will eventually cover the whole pool. I thought I had made a mistake when I first bought it because it was taking its sweet time skimming the pool. However, it has done an incredible great job at keeping the surface clean. It has also helped to keep my pool filters cleaner longer because the pool suction cleaner doesn't have to handle all the debris. Most of the debris will float for a while before it sinks, so the skimmer can catch it. Sometimes, it can get stuck with the pool vacuum hose, but I let it be, and eventually, when the pool vacuum starts to move, the skimmer can move again.

this was an investment as not cheap but works really well to take the surface debris off the pool. it is solar powered so no need to worry about cables etc. it can be operated by remote control to choose direction but we tended to let it go off at random and it did collect everything up. instead of going round with a net we popped this in once we had taken off the cover and it did its thing while we got ready to use the pool.

This little fella was so easy to install. Unpack, pop in water, and he went straight to work! Worth reading the manual to learn about his likes and dislikes, but no joke the easiest thing I’ve installed ever. No need to charge, nothing to do. Works great, emptied his belly after a few hours. I was so impressed to see that grit and dirt were also captured in there. Must be a very good quality filter as I only expected leaves mainly. Wry impressed as this should keep the whole pool much cleaner if I can prevent some grit settling to the bottom. He is still working at night even though he only got 3-4 hours of afternoon sun to warm his engines. Very pleased with this little guy, don’t know how I’ve lived without him! Seems very well built. Reasonably quiet but you can hear him chug along. It’s nice to watch him working out there, keeping the pool looking pristine. No more skimming for me. Money well spent to have the pool in perfect swimmable condition day or night.
