good quality car part
I haven't installed these on my car yet. I'm working my way to that part. Just from inspecting them the build quality of them seems pretty satisfactory. And the price for them was really good especially for the quality. I haven't ever changed the tie rods on a car before but my old dodge stratus had issues with tie rods breaking. and I don't think it'll be too hard to change them since I watched my ex change the ones on my dodge each time I needed a new one.

Sloppy steering fixed!
The steering on my 2001 Chevy Tahoe had become quite sloppy. With over 30 years as a Chevy and GMC parts counterman and parts manager, I am very familiar with this truck platform. The inner and outer tire rods are known component to wear out, and cause this problem. With someone helping to turn the steering wheel, I laid on the ground and could observe enough play in the steering components to know that they were a problem. These looked like they would fit the bill. Having seen a lot of of original equipment and aftermarket versions of these parts, I can say that these definitely have the look of an aftermarket part, and are not a high-end aftermarket part, at that. I’m definitely not wowed by the grease boot material or design. However, dimensionally they’re the same as the original equipment, they come with all the hardware needed, including the jam nuts, and installation went without any problem. I wouldn’t say these are top of the line, but they are adequate and do the job. This kit also comes with sway bar and links, which is nice, because they’re also a high wear item. Mine were definitely worn, and making some clunking noises, though not totally destroyed, missing, or thrashed bushings, which is not uncommon. Now, the steering doesn’t have any play in it anymore, other than a little bit in the steering box, which is wear on a high mileage truck and nothing to do with this kit. For someone looking to renew their steering on a budget these are a good solution. I have three of these GMT800 platform trucks, and I would put this kid in again.
