Add Extended Monitors With Ease!
There are many reviews here for different Diamond Multimedia display adapters, but there weren't any for the one I bought. I bought the dual HDMI adapter (BVU5500HS2). It works with both USB 2.0 and 3.0. It also works with USB A or USB C (using the included adapter). One HDMI port is labeled 2K (for 1080p) and the other is labeled 4K. It does not support two 4K monitors on the same adapter, but you can buy another adapter to use a second 4K monitor. I don't have a 4K monitor, but I do have the adapter connected up to two 1080p monitors and it works great. I have the adapter connected to a USB 2.0 port on a Windows 11 desktop and didn't need to install any drivers for it. It was plug and play. I have a third monitor connected up to the built-in HDMI port. After connecting the monitors, all I had to do is go into Windows display settings and chose my monitor layout for extending the display. Here are a couple of things I noticed about the display adapter. When waking up my computer it takes the display adapter an extra second or two to wake up than the built-in HDMI port. It functions the same as the built-in HDMI port after its up. No problems displaying videos. I don't play games so I can't comment on game play. Audio plays fine from the adapter, but if you have two monitors connected to it it will play audio on both monitors at the same time. You cannot choose audio to play only on one monitor, but you can always turn the volume down on one monitor itself if you don't want to hear it on both. I have external speakers connected directly to my computer, so audio doesn't play over any of my monitors.Diamond says you can connect up to six of these adapters to a total of six monitors on a single computer. If you are using 1080p monitors, you would only need three of the adapters for six monitors. Adding this video USB adapter is cheaper and easier than installing an internal video card.

Works for Projector w/ Audio
This BVU 3500H device works as advertised. I plugged it in to an HP Envy 23 computer on a USB 3.0 port to connect it via HDMI to my Onkyo stereo receiver (which passes the HDMI video to my projector). I needed this adaptor since the E23's HDMI port is only HDMI in, not HDMI out. DO NOT get other Diamond devices which only adapt to HDMI video if you have a set-up like mine: you need the native HDMI support to pass audio through (others will only pass video). The box come with a HDMI to DVI adaptor which I didn't use. It includes a short cable to go from a standard computer USB A to one of those odd extra-wide Micro-B USB 3.0 ports on the BVU3500H. The other end of the BVU3500H has a standard female HDMI port.It also came with an installation disk and a marginally helpful instruction booklet. Since I have Windows 10, it turns out I didn't need to install anything (it was plug and play -- Windows immediately recognized a secondary monitor). The instruction booklet only covered earlier versions of Windows and Mac instructions (it would have saved me a little time if it had said "don't bother reading this if you have Win10").My little guy and I watched a movie on it last night and it worked great. I can't speak to device longevity at this time, but it has an attractive, small case and looks like a quality build.

Work with Pixel 6 Pro (mostly)
The reason why I purchased this device was because the Google Pixel 6 Pro doesn't have HDMI over USB C like Samsung devices. With this device it is possible but with some drawbacks. The quality is good and it allows for the Pixel 6 to use a wired video/Audio connection to a monitor/TV.The drawbacks are not bad as long as you are expecting them. So with that here we go:1. There is no way to switch resolution via the app or device, so unless you use another app the picture will not be "fullscreen".2. Digital RIght Managed (DRM) media will not show on screen, there is audio though. The media itself won't show but the you'll be able to see things like the back button.3. For mobile devices you will need a USBC male to USBC female/USBA Female splitter or USBC hub otherwise the device may not work or will drain battery very quickly.4. The DisplayLink app is required, there are no permissions needed though.

Use this if you can't use USB C!!!
I recently purchased a new HP 17 Windows 11 laptop that has and HDMI port and both USB C and USB 2.0 ports. My expectation was that I could use any of a number of USB C video adapters to add a third display. I was sorely disappointed when after loading my software and data on the laptop I discovered that it did not support "DisplayPort over USB C", thus preventing use of my newly purchased (non-HP) docking station. After hours of unproductive research, I happened upon the Diamond BVU165. Problems solved! It's not listed, but the latest Diamond drivers support Windows 11. It comes with a DVD, but ypu can also download the drivers from www.diamondmm.com. Load the drivers first, then hook up all connections except for plugging the adapter into your USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. Power on your monitor, then plug in the adapter to the USB port. Done.I have tried the adaptor with several monitors using the HDMI and VGA ports. The only one that didn't work was a very old Dell projector which would not connect with its VGA port. I hoped that the VGA would work, as it's HDMI port didn't work directly connected to the HDMI port on the laptop. I was pleasantly surprised when the projector's HDMI port worked with the Diamond Adapter.I was able to use the USB 2 and 3 ports on the docking station to connect the Diamond adapter. Also the USB 2 ports on the laptop. So the Diamond gets around the USB without DisplayPort problem.I haven't tried it with older equipment, but I am confident they will work as well. I have had excellent service with Diamond's equipment in the past.I highly recommend this adapter.

works for 2nd monitor on MacBook 2012 w/USB 2
I wanted a 2nd external monitor using extended display for my MacBook mid 2012, which has thunderbolt, andUSB 2. Tried at least five other adapters and could not get the 2nd monitor to work through the USB. Downloaded latest driver from DisplayLink for Mac, and THIS PRODUCT works great. Only thing is at first it didn't work. I got a message saying I needed the latest driver, which I had. Went into the DisplayLink folder and double clicked the DisplayLink Manager and the monitor came on. IMPORTANT: After double clicking DISPLAY LINK, there is a small icon at the top to the screen for DISPLAY LINK. I attached a photo with 2 arrows. Make sure to check "Lauch app. after logging in" Otherwise, you will have to double click DISPLAY LINK every time to get the monitor to start. No problems with this product, and monitor is clear, and I have extended display. Totally happy. Also, I was told by a couple of technicians that USB 2 could not power a 2nd monitor. Not true.

Great device, very flexible
I needed to setup a home office very quickly. This device was delivered in 3 days and it was super easy to setup. I tested a couple of cofigurations with this device and everytime it worked as designed. I finally chose a specific configuration and Iam very pleased with the device. I will use it when I work on long-term assignments at my client sites. This is the perfect device for me.
