Excellent value
I've only had it two days so can't speak to longevity, but I'm very impressed with this machine for the price. Set up is easy; threading a serger is never going to be fun, but I was able to get it right on the first try and felt confident by the second go around. There's a YouTube video to help walk you through it as well, but the colored dots and manual will get you there. Suction cups on the bottom of the machine hold it steady, despite a weight of only 12 pounds. It's not whisper quiet, but not as loud as expected given the speed. Opening the doors is easy, and oiling will take just a sec.I tested the machine on a number of fabrics, and found I didn't need to adjust the differential, although I do recommend getting it (the D in the model number). Knives worked perfectly. No issues at all with tension or wonkiness with the edge with everything set on 4 (normal).Only a few knocks, and they're minor. 1) the manual is not great for English speakers, it's translated out of some other language and sometimes needs a couple of read throughs to understand. The pictures are very helpful, however, and everything I needed was there, just tricky to find and interpret. 2) this is a thing with all modern sewing machines under a certain price point, but the foot pedal is so lightweight that it wanders around, so I have to make sure I've got it in the right spot before stitching (esp when moving back and forth between machines.I'll be serging a turtleneck sweater today and stretch denim next weekend, and will report if there are issues, but I anticipate none based on test runs. This is a fantastic addition to my sewing room.

BUY THIS!!
Quick review!! Experienced seamstress here!! Over 12 years sewing anything from Dance wear to Shakespeariean costumes. This is a great find!!!Pros:- great price- sturdy machine- no skipped stitches!!!!- strong- lightweight / and a handel on top !!- no shaking or bouncing or moving while sewing- easy to adjust tension and settings- easy to thread!***Many said this is hard to thread. READ THE DIRECTIONS. watch a video!! This is as easy to thread as any at home serger!! 😆Cons:- wish it had a thicker cover- if you are not experienced a serger, in general any serger, may be difficult to thread and adjust.Honestly, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I've had a serger that I paid $800 for. I've had this machine for many years and it always skipped stitches on projects that had thicker fabric (fleece, jeans, 4-way stretch). I've attached pics of 4 layers of thick 4-way stretch fabric. The second pic of the fabric is with the 4 pieces laying flat and me sewing over the thick seam as well. Worked amazingly, no skipped Stitches and the knife cut like butter!!!Let's hope this machine will last me!!!

Works great!
This is like new! I can’t tell it’s ever been used. It came with a new manual and a bag of accoutrements. I set it up and it serged perfectly right out of the box. It feels really solid. It was relatively easy to thread.

A dream machine
I had no experience using a serger and bought this based on the reviews. I'd been planning to get a lower end Brother model and I'm so glad I decided to spend a little extra money to get the Juki. This machine is fantastic. It's so easy to use, even for a rank beginner like myself. And don't let the threading scare you, it's so easy to thread...just follow the color coding. The only trick to the threading is that you have to use the tweezers and threading tool on one of the threads to get into the small spaces, but other than that, it's straightforward and simple to thread. It's easy to change from 4 thread to 3 thread to do stuff like a rolled hem or rolled hem with lettuce edge. It's easy to change presser feet as well. It didn't come with other presser feet, but I bought several (elasticator, gathering, blind hem) - the gathering and elasticator feet are so easy to use and work well. I haven't tried the blind hem foot yet - again, the extra feet did not come with the machine, they were optional extra purchases. It's my understanding that sergers are usually noisy - not so, this serger is far quieter than my sewing machine. It runs so smoothly and efficiently. I love this serger so much that I decided to buy a Juki sewing machine as well. This serger made me realize how enjoyable sewing really is - this machine is amazing compared to my regular sewing machine. I highly recommend this serger - you will not be disappointed!
