Quality and Performance at a good price
Exceptional Quality and PerformanceI recently purchased the Parker Platinum Double Edge (DE) Razor Blades, and I must say, they have exceeded my expectations in many ways. As an avid wet shaver with a few years of experience under my belt, I've tried blades from various brands, but Parker has truly stood out for its price to performance ratio.Sharpness and SmoothnessOne of the most critical aspects of a razor blade is its sharpness, and the Parker Platinum blades do not disappoint. To me, they feel as sharp as a Gillette 7 O'Clock, but definitely less sharp than a Feather. From the very first shave, I noticed how effortlessly the blade glided across my skin, cutting through stubble with minimal resistance. The sharpness of these blades ensures a close shave, reducing the need for multiple passes and thereby minimizing skin irritation. Usually, they are smooth from the first use itself. However, my best shaves with them are usually the 2nd and 3rd. I have sensitive skin and am prone to razor burn and nicks, but with these blades, I've experienced significantly less irritation. The platinum coating seems to play a crucial role in delivering a smooth and comfortable shave. The blades feel thinner than other sharp blades and a little flimsy during handling. However, once clamped properly in a quality metal razor, they don't have any chatter.DurabilityI find they perform perfectly for about 4 shaves (3 pass shaves). After that, I notice a drop in sharpness.Packaging and ValueThe blades come in a plastic case, which makes it easy to dispose of used blades behind the tuck. However, I would rather Parker used cardboard tucks, as one of the reasons I wet shave is to reduce my plastic footprint. Each blade is individually wrapped, which is excellent for maintaining hygiene and ensuring the blades do not get damaged. Considering the quality and performance of these blades, they offer exceptional value for money. They are competitively priced and available in bulk packs, which is great for regular shavers.#### Final Thoughts #####Overall, the Parker Platinum DE Razor Blades are a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable, sharp, and smooth shaving experience. They cater to both beginners and experienced wet shavers, providing a balance of sharpness and comfort that is hard to beat at this price. I highly recommend giving these blades a try if you’re looking to elevate your shaving routine.---Note: I have been using these blades for several weeks, and my review is based on consistent performance over this period. Individual experiences may vary based on shaving technique, skin type, and razor used.

Smooth and Sharp
Nice packaging. The printing on the steel blade itself is a bit smudgy, but that has no bearing on the quality of the blade. I bought the single edge razor model SRX from Parker and used the included half blade with it. The quality was superb. The shave was smooth, close and even. Today I used the twin edge with the Bombay Shaving Company twin edge razor with the normal head (as opposed to Aggressive). This was from the current pack of 100 blades @ Rs. 999. Feel was almost the same. They were two different types of razors. So you can't really compare exactly. How does it compare with Feather? Costwise, you pay half as much for Parker as you do for Feather. In terms of the shave itself, I don't find anything different. In fact, I liked the feel of the Parker better. In terms of the weigh of the blade itself, it is a bit lighter than Feather meaning there is less metal in this blade than Feather. I could be wrong here because I haven't weight them on an electronic weighing scale. I don't use any twin edge blade till the end of its life because it is not worth it. It is too early to say how long each Parker blade lasts since I have only had one shave so far. If it lasts for four, I would say it is as good as Feather in terms of value for money. However, if I use the single edge Parker SRX, I have no reason to stretch each blade that long. I might as well use each half blade once. That only time will tell.Who is this blade for? You care about your face and don't mind spending a bit more than the Indian brands available from local shops. Don't get me wrong! Those brands are not bad. But the reason for the lower price is not just the sharpness, but the thickness of the blade. Thinner blades (cheaper) have a tendency to lose sharpness during one shave just because they are thin. The roughness of the edge of the blade can only be felt when you shave. You cannot see the difference with the naked eye. There are not many quality options available from retail stores. Quality blades are either exported from India, or imported from overseas. So a common Indian consumer has to buy the three blade and five blade razor blades like the Gillette Mach 3 or Mach 5. You want a quality shave, you have a high quality twin edge or single edge shavette razor and you want an appropriate blade at a reasonable cost, then Parker blade is for you.Just bear in mind you are buying 100 shaves with this pack assuming you will throw the blade after every use. That's still quite a long way. You might be wondering if it is worth it. I think it is. I am saying it once again after writing a review on the SRX, don't compromise on the shaving brush and the shaving cream. Get a good quality brush and a good quality shaving cream. That plays a major role in the quality of the shave.
