Dedh Ishqiya is a 2014 Indian comedy thriller film. Out from jail, Khalujaan a.k.a Iftekhar (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi) have stolen a necklace made of royal jewels and are on the run. They part ways and meet at the palace of the nawab of Mahmudabad, a town in Uttar Pradesh, where Iftekhar is competing with Urdu poets to win the heart of the nawab's widow Begum Para (Madhuri Dixit). Her quick-witted and mysterious friend and assistant Munniya (Huma Qureshi) slowly warms up to Babban and they together plot a kidnapping. Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah)and Babban (Arshad Warsi), the two romantic thieves are back in Dedh Ishqiya, sequel to the acclaimed and successful Ishqiya with their romantic adventures and this time love will take them through the Seven Stages of Love. With the beautiful and dangerous Madhuri Dixit as Begum Para and Huma Qureshi as Munniya.

Old wine in new bottle!
Sequel is as good as the first one-Ishqiya. The new story and characters blend in with the two old grifters played by Naseerudin Shah and Arshad Warsi. Old mansion, the Begum played by Madhuri Dixit provide a nostalgic look at an era that is now history. The music and atmosphere feel very authentic. The new comer Begum friend and companion is beautiful and a good actress. Overall another classy movie from Vishal Bhardwaj.

Worst story-line, worst direction. The best are Naseeruddin, Madhuri, Huma. Waste of time to watch.

Enjoyable rom-com with a dash of drama and excitement
A nice follow up to the 1st part. Moves at a controlled pace, with comedy, romance and simple drama for good measure. A simple story told fairly well and made for good, enjoyable viewing.Such movies show us how it is eminently possible to make good cinema that is entertaining and heart warming without razzmatazz and star power and over acting and over the top antics.The 1st part was definitely better, but this one isn't bad at all. The only slight criticism I would like to make is about Madhuri. Although she looked good, somehow I just felt she didn't quite fit. Darn!Enjoyable and definitely entertaining.

Nice, Racy and Not Too Long
Nice. For once a Hindi movie which ends a tad earlier than you would have liked.
