Terrible taste! Seemed like it was made completely of gristle!

My wife and I have been to Italy numerous times. We rent an apartment between Florence and Siena. That being said, we buy wild boar sausage with black truffles and jarred truffles from a small shop in Volterra. This is fortunately or unfortunately my only reference. The truffle aroma and taste is satisfactory. It's a bit too salty for me and the pepper can be a surprise. All in all it's pretty good. Pairs well with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. A bruschetta and some Parmigiano Reggiano with a spot of balsamic vinegar vechio.

I live in a rural community making it impossible to buy this salami locally. Tartufo salami is one of my favorite foods to eat. This salami is absolutely amazing. It shipped exactly as advertised.

I will say the truffle is definitely there. it's delicate, and if you don't have a sensitive palate, you might miss it, and then be mad you spent $16 on a tiny salami. I think it's really good if you're in a pinch, or if you don't have any access to something from a butcher, or a meat shop. Is it worth $16? I don't think so, but I was hungry when I ordered this, and it scratched my itch. I do enjoy it, but I ration it, since it was expensive, so that I don't feel like I totally overspent on a snack. That being said, if someone served this at a party, I wouldn't be mad at it.

I have tried different brands of the Tartufo over the past few months and this is by far has the best flavor. Will buy again and again.
