This fits comfortably in my hand
This fits comfortably in my hand, and is easy to use. It has a handle with a rubber grip, which is soft. I like the green and black on the handle and the presentation is nice, when it arrives. It comes with the little burlap sack, on the end of the tool, and is packaged, so that the sharp end of the tool is covered, so there is no chance of you getting poked when you open it. It does not take up much space, and can be easily stored, due to it's size. I have it outside on a garden shelf, and it is small enough that I am able to store it in a plastic shoe box, where it is protected from the elements, so it doesn't rust. I was able to use it to pull out a dandelion, as well. I would recommend this as a tool you will probably use often.

Sturdy and best tool in market!!!!
Did you ever go to harbor freight and buy cheap tool thinking that you are getting a good deal? You are so wrong and wasting your money on buying from the store. I am on some Facebook Group for gardening and someone suggest me to buy this tool so after looking for price and people review, I bought this product at full price. I am so glad that I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It was very easy to use with dry soil rather than wet and moist soil ( like just after the rain). It works wonderful to remove dandelion from the root.Ergonomic design- Rubber grip is easy on the palms. Big and has nice soft rubber kind of feeling rather than having tough plastic kind of material.Easy to remove any kind weed-- Grip was easy and was very productive. Got to the root of weeds with ease without putting too much pressure.Curve style design-- It helps to go around the roots and dig it little deeper. Plus narrower blade that’s better for digging down around long taproots, as well as a thicker, sturdier rod between the handle and the blade.I am really happy with my purchase. Thank you homegrown!!!!!

Best dandelion extractor ever!
First let me say that I can bend over from the waist for hours, and pulling weeds is like meditation for me.That out of the way, this is a most satisfying tool to meditate with! It's quality construction, with a good heavy blade, and the design has modified my dandelion-pulling technique. With my old straight tool, I would jab the forked end into the root to sever it. This tool seems meant to grab the root, not sever it, and once grabbed, the leverage offered by the curve pulls the plant straight out of the ground, bringing the root with it more often than not.For this tool, the more mature the dandelion, the better the job it does, since it grabs the root more effectively. For stubborn roots, and particularly for smaller plant, I often push down on the plant with my left hand while levering up with the right to seat the root better between the fork, or I'll just pull up on the plant gently with my left hand while the tool does most of the work.I've also used it on grasses, working around in a circle to pry up a root mass, and any other kind of weed. Works great on all.

Didn't work for me, but great customer service.
Update:The day after I posted my original review I received a refund, before I had even had a chance to return the weeder. This company is the best I have ever dealt with. The other garden tools I ordered from them are great. Although this one isn't for me, I'm upgrading my rating based on the company's customer service.Original review:I bought this on the basis of its great reviews, but my experience has been disappointing. It may be the soil where I live (Vermont), or it may be the size of my hands, but I found this tool to be uncomfortable to use and ineffective. Because the bend in the metal is so close to the prongs, it didn't get the tap roots up, but broke off the roots near the surface. I tried using different techniques, but nothing did the trick. I would give it one star, but it does seem well made.

I love this tool, and here's why!
First: Although the photo doesn't do it justice, this is a very beautiful and very sturdy tool. It's sinuous grace belies a its strength. And, it feels good in the hand.Second: In 60 years of gardening, I have never been able to weed out a dandelion with taproot intact. With this lovely tool, I pretty much just stuck it down into the ground and levered back the weeder. The offending dandelion surrendered without so much as a whimper. The "baby's got back" curve of the tool, gives the weeder some real leverage, which seems to make all the difference.Third: The folks at Homegrown Garden Tools are sooooo Sweet. They want you to love your weeder, and will send you instructions, if you can't figure it our yourself. You may end up loving them as much as you love your weeder.Forth: Weeding can be a very frustrating experience. With this tool, the work is easier than I have experienced in the past, and less frustrating, by far. In fact getting a few long taproots out successfully makes me feel like I RULE. You know that's a good feeling. If you're looking for a weeder, I cannot recommend this highly enough!

Pop goes the weeder
I don't care for gardening. I bought this tool because the dandelions were overtaking my parking strip. And I'm pretty sure my neighbor, with her pristine, weed-free yard was looking at me with disdain every time she saw mine. So I figured that this tool was worth a try. The price was well worth lifting the guilt from my shoulders. This tool was much easier to use than I had expected. The weeds came out with relative ease. And I must admit, there is something strangely satisfying about the "pop" the weeds make as they are dislodged from their roots. It was a bit addictive. And I spent much longer waging my weed war than I had expected as I wanted to hear that pop over and over again. It was also pleasing that this tool made it easy to tackle just the weeds, leaving the surrounding grass intact. Soon my parking strip will be the envy of the block!

Second chance
Amazing customer service: refunded my purchase cost and then I got a replacement tool in the mail. I upgraded my stars based on this. I’ve used the new one...gently. Difficult to trust it after my first experience but I sure want to like it after all. [My initial review was: First use: the tip broke off! Not so strong after all.]
