It works as described
What can I say, it's listed as Amazon's choice so you know off the bat, it's going to be decent. The construction is metal and not plastic like others in the same price range, it's sturdy, sits flush with my macbook which is really important as I don't want something clunky and bulky sat on the side for me to knock.I have tried everything apart from the HDMI port, everything so far works as advertised and the Thunderbolt port also charges :)This won't do your dishes nor will it usher in a new era of world peace, but It does what it is advertised to do, it works and a real decent price so thumbs up :)

Seems to function well
The unit can sit on either side plugging into two of the USB C sockets. If you have it on the right on a MacBook Pro it covers the Jack Socket. The unit is a little thicker than the MacBook Pro (it has the HDMI at the top). Charging has to be done using the USBC nearest the screen which then leaves you with one USBC and two USB A sockets. In the 3 or 4 weeks I have had it there have been no connection problems.

Great expansion for Macbook Pro
Bought for my son as an expansion for his macbook and his media course in college. Solid build quality and easy to install, just plug in the left side. Colour match is excellent, looking as if it is part of the macbook and instantly expands the ports, giving HDMI, USB 3.0 and C and SD card. This is a must have add on if you have a mac book, and gives you the flexibility that Apple seem to think you should pay more via their overpriced peripherals. Son is well impressed and has used the functionality of the ports several times to transfer media footage onto the macbook, while outputting a gorgeous 4K picture on his 55" tv :)

Seemed great at first but ...
When this arrived I was quite impressed with the build quality - a nice aluminium case instead of plastic and a good selection of ports - hdmi, a couple of USB, SD cards etc and all seemed to work well to start with. However after a couple of months, the HDMI connector wouldn't be detected - it would take random combinations of unplugging the dock &/or the HDMI lead several times before the external monitor would be recognised. A month or so later I started seeing WiFi connections failing when the dock is connected - I've seen the vendor say this is down to a particular wifi type being used but it works sometimes and others not so this doesn't seem a valid answer.Basically I've now got a 2 port USB adaptor now so really not impressed.

always on my laptop
This USB C adaptor for MacBook Pro is the perfect companion for who owns one of the latest MacBook Pros and needs to connect other devices onto their computer. The adaptor allows you to connect 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt cables, 2 regular USB, SD and microSD cards, and you can also output 4K video through HDMI.be warned the macbook ports are not as tight as the ones on the hub so when you pull things from the hub it might disconnect the hub from the laptop. (Apple's fault)

Nice, but good luck unplugging your USB devices
Looks cool, and lightweight. Fast connections - but not very sturdy at all.A slight movement can disconnect your hard rive or flash drive - whatever you have plugged in - so it doesn't make moving your MacBook around with any connections that easy. When you go to unplug something, it will just pull out the whole hub, so you have to make sure that you Eject anything plugged in which can be annoying.I also have a skin case around my Mac and had to saw a hole for it to attach properly.Overall cool idea and looks really sleek and nice, but I'd deffo buy a model that doesn't attach to the side of the Mac again and use a wired hub.

It perfectly fits my Space Grey MacBook Pro 13 2017
The colour is not the exact colour of Space Grey MacBook but it definitely matches smoothly.I loved that it doesn't leaven any space between the Mac and the gadget. You could actually plug the gadget from both sides.Cheap, Light, Good colour. Hope it

Only one Thunderbolt port
The idea of buying a hub is to expand the capabilities of the MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, this reduces the number of Thunderbolt ports from two to one. So, if want to use the Thunderbolt port for a monitor (particularly if you simply want to use two monitors—one on HDMI) you can no longer charge your Mac as the second USB-C port is just a basic data transfer port and does not accept charging. This is too much of a compromise for me. It's going back.
