Yanni is Great
My second purchase of this DVD, first was for a family member, loved it so much myself another one is on the way for me!!! Exciting orchestral arrangements, well worth watching as you will be hooked, DVD arrived as promised within the delivery timescale from Korea and worked perfectly here in the UK. Yanni is of Greek origin so that's probably why he is not well known here

Marvellous concert!
Marvellous and still only 4 stars?? Let me explain, its Yannis, the composer and conductors own fault! This concert from 1993 is by all meens great performance, great artists, great audio and great picture. The problem is that his next huge incredible work, the fantastic concert called Yanni Live from 2006 is a PURE 5 star!! So there is only 4 stars left!

Historic
I liked Yanni's music, but after this concert, I started to love it. It is in these live performances, with orchestra and virtuoso players (Karen Briggs, you are amazing!) where Yanni's music comes alive and shines.I enjoy the other live concerts from Yanni, but this one is very special, the first one, in his homeland, a historic moment at a historic venue.

The most exciting style of orchestration
The Acropolis: the perfect scenario for the Greek/American keyboard player. After many years of computer generated music, Yanni produces one of the greatest live concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and marks another milestone in music history. People who managed to see this concert said that they had never experienced anything like it. People who missed it, will regret it forever. The music played in this concert is a crescendo of intensity, virtuosismo and passion. The Royal Orchestra together with Yanni's creativity makes hearts beat like never before until Yanni announces the song 'Until the Last Moment'. At this point the performance becomes almost spiritual and the simplicity of the notes on the piano are placed in front of the deep feelings of the other musician and people listening. Further to this event in 1993, after six years of unbearable waiting, Yanni's greatest work was released in 1999: TRIBUTE. This is the title of the new album. Again the Orchestration cannot be classified as classical, pop or new age; it is simply Yanni. During the amazing piano and keyboards performances, it is very exciting to listen to the way that the music evolves into Violin, Bass, Percussion and Cello's solos. Two 'must have' masterpieces that will make you dream 'Until the Last Moment'. If you have missed his concerts, this is the only way to experience them.
