FIRST ALERT BRK SC9120B-3 Hardwired Smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector with Battery Backup, White, Pack of 3

Install was super easy. Tested fine. And looks nice. I took the picture in low light to show the green light. Reliable brand. I'll be buying another one too replace my other old smoke detector.

This is the second set I’ve purchased. The first one lasted about eight years before one began signaling it was no longer good. I decided just to replace all of them to avoid any late night interruptions from the other detectors. Overall, they work well and are easy to install.

Functioned well for 7.5 years. Then it starting chirping as if it needed a new battery. No battery resolved the problem and had to be replaced. I expect a smoke alarm to last 10-15 years. Don't know if the CO component made it fail earlier. It replaced a similar unit that lasted only 4 years. Most of these units in my house are now 12 years old.

10 years ago I purchased and installed very similar units made by the same manufacturer, a bit bigger and no carbon monoxide sensor. The manufacturer recommended replacement in 10 years so I bought these. As mentioned, these are smaller in size and detect carbon monoxide. One advantage: the wiring plug that came with the old ones and that I installed fit the female plug on the new ones so I could just use the old wiring harness. But it isn’t a big deal to install the wiring harness that comes with the unit. Also, these units come with a back up battery and the old ones did not.

This review is for the First Alert BRK Hardwired Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Battery Backup, 3-pack. I bought this item to replace and upgrade the smoke detectors in my home. I wanted to have a CO detector on each floor. Each detector came with a hardwire adapter, 9V battery, and mounting brackets. Installation was super easy for a non-handy person such as myself. Thank goodness I didn’t need the hardwire adapters. I did need to replace one of the mounting brackets. There are a lot of how to videos online to guide you. Remember to turn the power off at the fuse box. Overall installation time was 30 minutes.

Original failed after 6 years. Ordered new ones, cheaper to buy multiple units than singles. Plugged it in, tested it and walked away. Easy

this is a replacement hard wired smoke detector. I found it quite expensive.

Exactly match the one I needed to replace / same brand even if the model number had change/Easy to install and battery included . No longer available in store. Very satisfied/

bought this to replace my previous First Alert Fire/Smoke alarm and it fit perfectly and does the job as intended

Smoke detector is a great choice for the price, it detects smoke and carbon monoxide. Very little maintenance required. Hardwired with a battery backup. Very happy with this product.
