Will the straps for the kickstand run a risk for possibly breaking the kickstand?

I haven't experienced that issue. It's tight but it moves easily with the opening of the case. Of course you have to provide that manual support as not to put strain on the hinges.

With the case on, can you still flip it all the way back so I can be just a tablet

You can but with the keyboard, most times for me it unattaches.
