Living in Chicago, I always feel the need to carry some type of self-defense product. Most of the time its pepper spray. I picked this up so I could add it to my keychain. Good size, very portable and activates simply by pushing a button. I accidentally pushed the button and WOW that alarm is very loud - everyone on my floor, and the floor below and the floor above could hear it. I knew there was a button to push to de-activate it, but it wasn't working and this alarm went off for at least 5 minutes. Will definitely cause a migraine if you can't it to shut off. Could easily double as a torture device.

I bought it to play for robo callers. It's not all that loud. After all, 130 Db is the maximum sound level allowed for music in nightclubs. For self defense, I can't imagine it being very useful for anyone who doesn't like rough sex. The buttons are considerably less than conveniently placed. It's a cheap plastic noise maker. Any bad guy wanting to turn it off would simply stomp it flat. Personally, I'm licensed to carry and never leave the house unless I'm properly armed. The technical term for anyone not willing to meet force with force is "victim". The credit card guy from Pakistan didn't like it, so I'm giving it three stars as a potential tool for discouraging robo callers.

My mother inlaw and my wife both like the personal alarm. Now they both feel safe... We coundn't get the Mace peper spray because it illeagal in New York... Thnak you for selling us your product..

It's very loud!
