it's made of wood..
o.k. so I thought I might try using a cheap tele body and here is what I got. first of all the overall appearance seemed quite good, but the finish is rough.sanding and more sanding revealed a really thin veneer on the body itself:so be careful there..the edges on the top and bottom were not done too well. while fitting the body with the various components I needed to rerout the humbucker pocket...it was too shallow..and since I was adding a humbucker bridge on it I also needed to route the bridge pocket..seemed like the body wood itself a little soft..the aftermarket pickguard fit was almost perfect for this body.reaaly close! the neck pocket..hmmm.a little too deep and it seems like it was cut on an angle. the Telecaster neck I am using fit was just a little too loose in the pocket and will need to be shimmed up.the fretboard overhang interfered with the pickguard..staining the wood was straightforward with a little darkening on the edges of the surface because of the thin veneer..oh damn..the route for the control plate is close..real close to the width of the plate..so be careful fitting that..all in all,the body is near perfect copy of an original tele body, but I think the maker needs ro adjust their dimensions on the routing a little better..this in ot an original bolt on and play body..I should try to make everything work, but it just seems like too much work to make it right..if I cant,I will just toss it and build my own body, which I have been doing for years..nice try but no cigar on this one..I guess I like to challenge myself and trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear is what I like to do..

Routing is all bad
I bought one of these several months ago, and other than the too small neck pickup cavity, It was a great body.I liked it so much that I more recently bought two more bodies.I finally had a chance to build another Tele style guitar (for a client), and fit the neck, set the bridge, and shimmed the sides of the neck pocket, which was routed a little wide (not uncommon), but never thought to check depth of the pocket.I put two base coats of lacquer, two color coats, and several coats of clear on it, sanding between every other coat. After spending several days, the body was finally ready!!I started assembling the guitar.SURPRISE!! the neck pocket was about 1/4" too deep!!Since this guitar was for a client, I couldn't let him have it like this, but shimmed the neck anyway.Then...SURPRISE!! The control cavity was routed over 1/2" too far from the neck end of the body, leaving a big gap where the control plate is supposed to nestle neatly into the half-circle cutout in the pickguard!!I checked the other body I had bought from this seller, and..SURPRISE!! It was the same! When I wrote the seller thru Amazon, they acknowledged that they knew of this problem, and had the nerve to offer me $30 refund (the two bodies were around $130).They then had the nerve to email and ask me to describe the problem. I had already explained everything, including photos in a previous email TWICE!

No holes drilled for thru-body type bridge.
Bought this because i wanted to build a Tele-style guitar with a humbucker neck pickup. Pre-built "raw" bodies like that are rare (or expensive). I'm no woodworker, so hogging out a Tele single-coil neck pickup cavity ain't gonna happen. I was disappointed to realize that the thru-body string holes were not drilled. I thought I could drill them my-own-self, but I'm no woodworker and it didn't work out on a previous BexGears Tele body. Unfortunately, to do this right, one needs a drill press with a 12" swing (6" reach) and they are also rare (or expensive). Hand-drill guides are not that good either. A nice even row of 6 holes on the top side can end up a not-so-nice uneven row of holes on the bottom where the string ferrules go. After plugging with dowels and redrilling, it was not much better. No more BexGears for me until they drill the the thru-body holes in their stand-alone and kit bodies.

Not too shabby
Nicer than I thought it would be. All I have to do is smooth out the neck pocket and paint pretty much. Input and wiring holes are a little rough but nothing some elbow grease couldn’t fix. Can’t wait to start my project. Oh and it arrived earlier than I expected, pleasant surprise there.

Just so-so.
Overall shape was good and in the end it'll be an ok body but...It came with a couple of cracks in it. they went with the grain and all the way through. I was able to repair it but less than ideal. The rout for the bridge pickup had to be enlarged as it was to far from the neck. I was able to make that work too.For the price I didn't really expect much and I'm ok with the repairs necessary, but in the future I'll probably buy a higher quality body for my next build.
