Excellent Quality Black Poppy Seeds
Product arrives fast as always and was fresh and will work wonderfully on my homemade bread. I normally use Bobs Red Mill, but they are not longer producing their Black Poppy Seeds. This is a big bag for a great price.

Amazing freshness and flavor!
The seeds had a naturally strong scent at first — a sign of their healthy oils, like linoleic acid. Once I baked them into pastries, the scent mellowed and the flavor turned wonderfully nutty and crunchy. Toasting also removes the scent completely. Fresh and top quality!

Mild yet distinctive flavor
This is the first time I have used poppy seeds. The package reseals nicely which will help keep their flavor. Following online guides to test for freshness these passed easily. I made a shortbread cookie with them. I wanted to get a couple of pictures of them, but they didn't last long enough. They were fantastic. The poppy seeds have a mild flavor, but are distinctive and add a complexity to a simple cookie. The recipe only needed 1/4 cup of seeds that allows about 4 batches to be made from this one 8 ounce bag. I used the ivory poppy seeds which I liked for the cookie because they were basically invisible. However they still added the pop and crunch while eating. Poppy seeds are naturally gluten free so they can be added to baked goods to elevate them. I am looking forward to making a lemon and poppy seed muffin.

Satisfying
These poppy seeds are incredibly fresh and have a satisfying crunch. The metallic doypack packaging kept them perfectly preserved until I opened them. Great in bread, muffins, or sprinkled over yogurt — so versatile!

Smelled old and moldy though I did not see mold
Smelled old. I did not see mold but they just did not smell right, smelled moldy if that makes sense, and I was afraid to eat them. What a shame. And a waste.

Has been great for salad dressing and to top homemade bagels
I don’t use poppyseeds really often but do at times for homemade salad dressing and to top homemade sourdough bagels when I make them. I usually get the black version of them but I saw these and decided to give them a try. I’ve since used them for both and am really happy with them. These white poppyseeds have a lighter yet still slightly nutty flavor and I actually prefer them over the other kind I have used in the past.These are fresh tasting, have a good expiration date and I appreciate the zip top re-closable bag they come in. I'm going to try my hand at homemade hamburger buns next so I can add these to the tops and am definitely making lemon-blueberry poppyseed muffins with these. You get plenty to work with as a little goes a long way for most things. Do be careful if you want to roast these as they do brown quickly.I’ll be set for a while with these. I feel they are a good value and I have no complaints.
