Just what I was looking for
I was looking for an illuminated loupe for knife sharpening. I have several standard loupes that I've been using with a flashlight to light up my edge. This does pretty much exactly what I want plus the lens is a lot larger than my Nikon 10x loupe so I can see more of the edge plus the handle keeps my hand further away from a sharp knife blade. The scale for me is not really a necessity, it is a little strange their website shows it has 0.5mm as well as 1/32" scale but these units only have metric. So it that is a deal breaker i would reach out to Engineer maybe they still carry the dual measurement units?Few reasons I gave it 4 stars and not 5.1. No case or lens caps so you may end up with a scratched or dusty lens if you leave it out.2. I did not look at Engineer's website before purchasing but the picture is difficult to gauge the size of this unit but it is a lot larger than I was expecting. It uses 2x C batteries so the handle is big. I was hoping for a smaller unit to put in the case with my knife sharpener.3. Build quality is not the best (but hey what do you expect for less than 30 dollars). The unit feels like its made of cheap flimsy plastic. With the batteries inserted it rattle around like a cheap 2 dollar flashlight. The optics are about on par of a sub 30 dollar unit. There is chromatic aberration, center has the least but as you look further out it gets worse (you can see it on the scale). It's good enough for what I need it for though. I will probably invest in some AA to C battery adapters, I think the choice for C batteries was overkill for a single LED light source.

Great tool
This is a great tool. I use it for looking at the depth of the score in glass as well as other defects for inspection glass edge quality.

Not a good magnifier lens…
Magnifier lens is not good. Lenses with 10x from other manufacturers are much better

Another wonderful Engineer product
Ever since purchasing the Engineer solder sucker, I've sworn by Engineer products and this is a great inspection tool at a great price. I ordered a couple cheap loupes up to 90x magnification but found it difficult to fight with up-close inspections with them. This is only 10x but I can inspect solder joints perfectly, it illuminates well, and has a ruler that came in handy quicker than I expected.

This is a piece of junk.
I couldn't even move the on-off switch. Junk!

Original part or Very good copy.
This magnifying light is either an original part or a very good copy. If it’s original then it definitely failed it’s Quality Control Testing. The switch is very stiff and the magnifier lenses are plastic and actually have scratches on them. The lens cap on the top had some excess mold plastic still on it and I had to cut it off before use. I have an original model from the industrial supplier that has glass lenses. I said it could be a very good copy because if you remove the stickers and place it next to the good one, you would not be able to tell them apart. They are identical. I gave it three stars because it is definitely cheap, no as solid as the original industrial version. It is however a very good copy and would still work as an alternative.
