Fort Knox of iPhone cases
I wanted a case to use on an upcoming white water trip. I read lots of reviews.. and decided to go with this case. I'm thrilled I did. It is perfect for that purpose. I wouldn't recommend this for an "everyday" type of case because it is rather large. But, for those extreme sports (Water, snow, hiking, etc.) or tough work sites, this is the case for you.Pros:(a) its easy to get your phone into the case.. just open the latch and slide it in and snap the top/latch back down. No fumbling with sleeves or snaps.(b) it is solid case, doesn't feel flimsy or plastic. I did a couple test drops onto my garage floor (without the phone in it) and didn't even nick the case one bit. Even when dropping on the solar panel side.(c) water proof - - -- really! I put a paper towel in the case and did several tests, submerged the case, etc. No leaks...and it even floated some of the time. It was great. Went kayaking and no issues with the water splashed on it either. I'm a skeptic, so I find it hard to believe.. but it really works (so far anyway!)(d) charges quickly, recharges your phone quickly and the solar panel is good addition. If you're off the grid, like I plan to be on my whitewater trip, then I think the solar panel provides "emergency" charge. I saw some reviews found it to be quirky, but mine works fine. Remember, if your case is charging your phone, it can't be solar charging. It can only do one or the other, it can't do both simultaneously.(e) can fully use your phone (except for the silence button). The sound is a little distorted, but hey. your phone is in a case that is the Fort Knox of cases. They do give you an adapter to connect your headphones.. or use Bluetooth.(f) I had no problem using the control panel or notification center. The bevel of the case looked like it would be in the way, but I had no problem.Cons:(a) it is somewhat large, so wouldn't be a good every day case for most people(b) sound is muffled. This wasn't a show stopper for me, because I use bluetooth headphones. They do include an adapter for regular headphone.(c) the lanyard they give you is flimsy.. I wouldn't use it. The provided carabiner clip is slightly more sturdy.(d) you need super grip strength to get your phone OUT of the case. It fits in tightly and does take a firm grip to pull the phone up and out of the case.Bottom line - if you're looking for a case to protect your phone from damage from drops and water and like to have the option for recharging, this is the case for you. Go for it!

Its bulky but unbreakable….
I choose 5 stars because unlike most people who have the product for a day and then write a review and don't know what there talking about. First off the case is bigger then any phone case should be, but then again if you truly want a unbreakable case then this is the case you want. I never want to worry about my phone with my 3 year old playing with it and being out on the water on the boat. The case does everything it says it can and with out a doubt the best case i have had. I am a phone case abuser, i have broken two life proof cases after just a few weeks, and outer box is just worthless. This case took me a few days to figure out but when i did i was amazed, the solar panel chargers the case battery and then you just hold the power button on the back of the case to use the case battery to charge your phone. i usually get about two chargers out of the case, from around 40% cell battery. the solar panel chargers in low light, so i don't know why people are putting it out in the direct sunlight to charge it, then complaining about it overheating. i leave mine in the cup holder face down and it has enough sun to trickle charge. If i had to pick one thing to complain about this phone it would be the make you use the charger that comes with the case and you can't charge it with the iPhone charger any more, the cable they give you is really short(12in) and barley reaches the floor. Hope i helped!

rugged chargability in the field
snow lizard SLXtreme iPhone 5SE caseso far have been using for about a week, battery and solar system functions without a flaw.ruggedness is to expectation has survived two drops one from the hood of a full size truck second down a flight of concrete stairs.cons on the case are;it came in missing the safety secondary latch on the side of the casetop button split due to rubber dried out and became brittle loosing the water proofing. not sure if Snowlizard has updated this design to epdm or silicone on the newer models but that would be a recommended update.data port does not connect to computer while in case, so if wanting to download pictures/video phone must be removed from the case.in all this case has proved to be both sought and reliable and i would hole heatedly recommend it to any one who needs a strong case with the ability to be around water.looking forward to ordering another case when I upgrade my phone

Great case...No really.
I use my phone all day, every day, and the battery life was becoming a problem. I thought about swapping the battery out like I did my iPhone 4, but decided to look at external power cases instead. At first I had a bit of skepticism after reading some reviews on here, but I also did myself a favor and went on YouTube and looked at some of the video reviews as well. I like this kind of gear, what can I say, it reminds me of some of the equipment we had in the Marines, so I jumped in and bought the case. It's bulky that is for sure, but it works flawlessly. I did get the Apple error about the device not being supported, but I just reinserted the cable again and it went away. Solid piece of equipment, extremely well designed, no doubt about that. I ran the underwater test and it sealed perfectly. Sound quality as a handset it a bit diminished, but not terrible. I probably would have gone with the black version as opposed to yellow b/c my wife makes fun of me about the color all the time. Small price to pay for an awesome case. I look forward to many adventures with it! :)

What you need to complete iPhone to GPS transformation.
Possibly a little over priced.. Looks like metal on photos but is plastic and feels like plastic..I bought this mainly for its charging ability to use my iPhone as a GPS on long walks and I cannot fault it. I have been on a 10 mile walk today (5 hours as it was a photo walk).. and came home with the iPhone on 100%.. Very impressive..Case is tough and well made though I expected better quality for the price.. The screen works fine though a slightly harder press is required in the corners as you'd expect.Lanyard works fine but the carbibina feels like cheap brittle plastic.. However it's been used a few times with no issues..Would I buy one after using it.. Yes.. But I still feel it's a little over priced for the quality.

Definitely not extreme!
Save your money, solar charger packed in 2 days into a holiday then overheated when in mains charge so completely useless.
