After the Quran and a book of Hadith, this is the one book that I recommend that every Muslim household have a copy of. Although mostly understood to be a book for Muslim children, I have found this book perfect for anyone looking to learn more about the fundamentals of Islam. At the age of 25, I find myself returning to this book regularly to review things such as the meaning of the words we recite during salat, the history of the prophets (PBUT), the social responsibilities that Muslims have towards society, and so much more. Simply put, this book is a must have.

I love this book, it introduces important terms in Arabic by using transliterations and stresses the importance of learning Arabic. The book clearly and accurately introduces Islam and it's five pillars. Mr. Sarwar does a very good job on giving details in areas that warrant them (i.e. Salat).One of the best parts of this is the different review questions at the end of each chapter that are organized according to age range, it makes sure that the right things are learned according to the age group. I use all the questions to review and I'm 27! Well worth getting, even if it is used or new! Paying full price would not be something you would regret.

I first picked up this book under the age of ten. Since then, I must have read it two or three more times, purchased several copies to give to friends and family, and recommended it as a primary textbook for Islamic curriculums. The author Ghulam Sarwar does a great job of summarizing all the essentials - a great read for anyone interested in the religion or someone looking to expand their own interest in their religion. There's nothing in there to disagree with - highly debated issues are simply omitted. He leaves that for other books. 5 stars.

I use this book to learn more about Islam. the book is broken down into the important things to know and learn. I recommend it to supplement your knowledge.

This is an excellent resource for new Muslims, school children in a classroom setting,and those seeking general information on the beliefs and practices of Islam. I especially like the wide variety of topics covered and the way it is designed to meet the needs of a diverse spectrum of readers. An excellent, well written resouce on the basics of Islam, as well as other pertinate subjects for the enlightenment of Muslims and the general public.

Used this for our Islamic curriculum in middle school almost 15 years ago. Loved it then and love it now!

excellent overview of the faith and way of life of the muslim. I reverted to islam many years ago and sadly i never came across this book until this year. If you are thinking of becoming a muslim, marrying a muslim, learning the faith and its duties or just plain interested in learning what islam is all about, this is the best book i have found that covers everything quickly and easily. A great place to start and for me personally it was a good reminder of things i had forgotten and quit doing and plenty of things i didn't know. As a muslim and as a human we are always learning and none of us know everything there is to know. Education never stops.

I read a book by ghost author as a child and needed an up to date version. This is a helpful guide.

This book was delivered well in advance of the delivery date which was a lovely surprise. I previously purchased an earlier edition many years ago and was very happy to learn that it was still available and in its 8th edition! An extremely accessible book, highlighting common Islamic etiquette's and prayers, as well as a detailing description on how to perform salah. A recommendation for all Muslim and non-Muslims who are interested in learning about Islam.

I used this book as a child to learn about my religion. I purchased one for my kids so they can in turn benefit. Easy reading and covers all the basics.

I learnt from this when I was younger so I bought it for my children too
