Most average binders and composition notebooks fit in the main pocket, and the bag can hold quite a lot. It is very sturdy and made of canvas like material. I use it as a school bag so I’d say go for it.

How do you put buttons on because I can’t put them on?

I’m not sure what material the bag is, but I’m sure you can try “enamel pins” that can be secured from the back with the little button they come with, or a clothing pin (long needle on the back) if the bag is too thick.

Can it fit clothes? Like a uniform or even shoes?

Yes. It can fit more than most backpacks and even some suitcases. It is very roomy. It’s like a Mary Poppins bag! I usually use it for vacations, shopping, and other places where I need to either bring or put in lots of things.
