Great audio with some tiny basic ops concerns
Its hard to complain about the performance and feature set of this unit.It has so many great pros that I feel picky pointing out how it fails to serve me.I would rate it near perfect for its vintage if not for 2 characteristics I find to be annoying for me personally. To be fair - realize my use is exclusively performed using my iPhone, some great IEMs, and the “Boom” app.I draw all music tracks from my recorded stored iTunes library. This is why the following cons are important to me.The settings and its display are respectable. What disappoints me is that they are not saved or stored in the device. Each time power is cycled - settings are gone. This is not a killer - but it does take a few seconds to configure each time I suit up for an outing. Then there is the nice easy volume control knob. This becomes a problem if it is rubbed or bumped during use - since it then moves etc and must be re-adjusted.Other than that - and for those who use this DAC/amp stationary in a fixed location - It seems as good as it gets for this time.I have used many other similar devices, to include the revolutionary Qudelix brown brick. But for my use at this point - The Fosi DS1 best serves my particular purpose. Its audio closely rivals any such device, and its controls are fool proof. But again - if your only interest is in the newest protocols, max output, and the minor cons mentioned above don’t matter to you - this is a very capable unit.

Does a good job with features and sound quality, greater battery consumption.
Good features, very helpful to have volume knob and bitrate displayed. No internal battery, drains audio player battery at an accelerated rate. I tested it with a Sony ZX707 and 306. The sound quality is very good and will drive high ohm head phones.

good sound.
i thought i would take a chance on this amp dac i normally do not buy things that do not have any reviews but it sounds really clear and crisp and it gets the bass just right my only complaint is that it seems to go into some sort of power saving mode when the sound stops and when something new plays it takes a couple of seconds for the sound to kick in other than that its perfect.as a update to this review the issue with the sound taking a couple of seconds to kick in was actually a problem with my laptop not the dac amp

One of the best in its price range
I liked the specs, thought I'd give it a go. Unboxing looked and felt as a premium experience. I use this dac with my higher end headphones, the sound was perfect, excellent bass without over powering sub bass, mids and treble were crisp and clean. Absolutely highest recommendation.
