Why did you pick this product vs others?:Product looked and felt heavy duty. Bought it to use on fans in my crawl space. Easy to set up and works good.

I was looking for a timer that had two plug receptacles in it. I also wanted the timer dial to have a clear cover. Those features are 5 stars.However, I gave the product 4 stars overall for a few reasons, mostly based on my spouse's comments (he doesn't pick the timers but he gets the "opportunity" to set them for me and has set other brands and types in the past):This timer does not have a second button that allows you to test whether the electricity (or the lights connected to the timer) are working; it has only the "set timer" button. In fairness, it is not advertised as having the test feature, but my spouse really liked that option on other timers and considered its absence here a real disadvantage. I took off 2 stars in the "value for money" rating and adjusted my overall rating accordingly (because if you read descriptions carefully you can find timers with this feature).Some notes of caution (which I factored into the "ease to use" rating):The pins are small and some comments are that they are hard to set. My spouse did not mind that the pins are tiny because he knows to use a small screwdriver get at them (and has done so with other timers).One thing about this timer that he understood but I totally did not is that you can't just set the timer for the time on and time off and then plug it at some later time in and hope the decorations light up at the time that you set. I learned this when I asked why the second timer that I purchased was plugged into an outlet in the kitchen already set for 4pm and midnight even though I didn't think I would need another timer--and why I couldn't just plug it in outside (pre-set to my desired on/off times) whenever I wanted it and be "off to the races", so to speak. He explained that there is a "set current time" dial that also needs to be set (immediately) so that the timer has a reference point in order to "know" when to turn the lights on and off. Ok, now I get it, but I had no clue when I bought the timers. Not a defect, just the way this type of timer works, but not super-easy to use either.I hope this review helps those who get stuck setting timers and those who buy timers having no real clue as to the effort involved to set them.

Simple to set and operate. Like that we can have 2 items plugged in on the same timer. 2 weeks now any working great.Thanks

This product looks well made, but the timer runs hours a day slow. This accumulates each day. So, use it without the timer or adjust it daily.
