I bought the Heveis Home Water Test Kit because I wanted to know exactly what was in our tap water before investing in a filter system. I’ve never tested water before, but within 20 minutes I had results for pH, hardness, chlorine, nitrates, copper, lead, and more. The test strips are simple—you dip them in water and compare the color changes to a chart. For the heavy metals like lead and copper, the kit includes specialized packets that felt more accurate than a basic strip. The results were eye-opening. Our water showed higher hardness than I realized, which explains the scale buildup on our showerheads. Thankfully, no lead or copper showed up, which gave me a lot of peace of mind for my kids. I tested on different days just to be sure, and the readings were consistent each time. This is an easy to use kit and easy to read for a wide range of various tests. It gives you a general idea of water quality and what you may need to treat.

I would give this 5 stars, except the process to do all the tests can be a little involved step wise. It does what it claims it does and we used all the tests and functionality in the kit on our last RV trip. Its quality is good overall. Accuracy is very good. We had travelled for about 2 months using mainly city water connections and only using onboard water for flushing toilet. So we were curious as to how clean/safe the water was after sitting in the tank so long. Using the functions of the kit, we soon learned that there were no causes for concern with the water, nice to have that piece of mind. Tank will be sanitized before next trip, but that’s because it will have sat empty over the winter.

This kit does not measure chloramine in the water. I was disappointed because chloramine is a stronger disinfectant and I would have loved to know the level of chloramine in our watee

It comes with 120 test strips and 4 bacteria tests, so there’s plenty to use for regular testing and just feeling good about the water you’re drinking. What I really like is how super easy it is to use. The instructions are simple and clear, even if you’ve never tested water before. You get results fast, and the color chart makes it easy to figure out what’s going on with your water. Now I have peace of mind that my water is good to drink.

I am not sure if it actually works as i tested all my water sources at home and showed the same result. Will have to check some chlorinated water to see if it will catch any differences.
