I bought a previous one on ebay for my wife's X5 putting it together was a snap and very easy to lock into place, the forked approach does seem to be superior as it doesn't all that much rolling like a clock (an issue I had with the Ebay version I purchased) and it allowed it to move further away from the Sonar Sensor which was another issue with a previous version. My wife has been extremely happy about this.

If you have proximity sensors be aware you will have to modify this part. I simply drilled a new mounting hole and cut down the threads to accommodate the license plate. This seller is 6 Stars!! I reached out to them when the tow hook mount wasn't the right thread size for my vehicle, which was my fault for misreading the description! They promptly sent out a replacement that worked. All hardware was good quality aluminum and steel and has been installed for several weeks now with no loosening. You should not leave this on while going through a car wash, but removing it only takes two wrenches and a few minutes.

Editing my review: Plate frame looks good. There was a part missing from my order but the manufacturer and seller quickly corrected that issue! I will be posting more pictures once I can.

I am taking back my first review. After going back to the instructions I was able to install as I did find the screw which rolled under the seat. Note to self use paper towel to place the hardware. Very easy install.

Installed on two vehicles 4-months ago. No problems so far.

I am very satisfied and not worried about my plate getting stolen.

I ordered this because I wasn't aware of the original product created by GrimmSpeed. I needed something fast to pick up my new car and keep from potentially getting a citation for not having my front license plate mounted. When I attempted to mount this kit on my new car, I quickly realized that this was total crap. The materials are very cheap. They used low quality metals, the instructions aren't clear, the main bolt can strip easily because it's made of cheap aluminum, and the backplate is super flimsy and will bend easily around the mounting point. I wouldn't trust this product on my car. Just buy the original from GrimmSpeed and you'll have nothing to worry about.
